The next time Jungkook opened his eyes, he found himself lying on the hospital bed. His mind was foggy, but then the memory of his allergy hit him. He shifted slightly, feeling a bit sore but grateful to be breathing easier.

Jin... His thoughts immediately went to his husband. He must have been worried sick....maybe...

Jungkook glanced around the room, his eyes landing on Jin sitting in a chair nearby. Jin's long legs were propped up on the bed's edge, his head tilted back as he dozed off, mouth slightly open, staring at the ceiling even in sleep. The sight made Jungkook chuckle softly. He’s really something, Jungkook thought with fond amusement.

The quiet moment didn’t last long as the nurse entered to check on Jungkook, causing Jin to stir. The sudden noise made Jin wake up in a funny, disoriented way, which only made Jungkook try harder to suppress his laughter.

Jin noticed. "Y-You! Are you laughing at me? You damn bastard." His voice was sharp, though his eyes betrayed a mixture of relief and annoyance.

"Humph! I thought you’d be dead, but here you are, alive and smiling. I wasted my sleep and time for nothing." Jin huffed angrily before storming out of the room, leaving Jungkook with the nurse.

Jungkook’s smile faltered at Jin’s harsh words, a pang of hurt settling in his chest. "Does he really hate me that much?" But before he could dwell on it, the nurse interrupted his thoughts, gently checking his vitals.

"Your husband... he's quite the liar, isn't he?" The nurse smiled knowingly, making Jungkook blink in surprise.

"You think so?" Jungkook asked, still reeling from Jin’s sharp departure.

"Oh, absolutely," the nurse chuckled. "Do you know he stayed up the entire night by your side? He didn’t let himself rest, always making sure you weren’t in pain. He must have called me a thousand times to check on you. Every time your condition worsened, he panicked, prayed, even came close to crying a few times. Now he’s acting like he doesn’t care. Quite the act, if you ask me."

Jungkook stared at the nurse, his heart swelling with an unexpected warmth. Jin stayed up all night... taking care of me? Praying, even? He couldn’t believe it. The way Jin had just stormed out, all harsh words and coldness, didn’t match what the nurse was saying.

He glanced at the door where Jin had just exited, feeling a pang of guilt. He really did care... But as always, Jin tried to hide it behind his sharp tongue and cold demeanor.

"I saw how he panicked," the nurse's words roam in Jungkook’s heart as his heart squeezed at the thought of Jin, anxious and worried, even crying, while he himself was unconscious.

Jungkook’s mind replayed the scene from just moments ago—Jin waking up in that funny, clumsy way, then lashing out to cover up his real feelings.

'Humph! I thought you’d be dead, but here you are smiling. I wasted my time...' It was all an act, Jungkook realized, a poorly disguised way of hiding how much Jin had been concerned.

He smiled softly, his hand absentmindedly brushing against the spot on the bed where Jin’s legs had rested. My darling… He was beginning to understand Jin more and more, and it only made him fall deeper for the man.

“Thank you for telling me,” Jungkook murmured to the nurse, who gave him a knowing smile before finishing up her checkup.

As the nurse left the room, Jungkook’s thoughts were solely on Jin. He couldn’t wait to see him again, to tease him and see through that tough exterior Jin always tried to maintain. But more than that, he wanted to make sure Jin knew that even though he acted tough, Jungkook had seen his real heart.
