- A month later,
On what seemed like a normal day, Jin was comfortably lounging on the couch, reading a romance book with the TV playing in the background. Jungkook was out for a project meeting, and the house was unusually quiet. Jin enjoyed the peace, flipping through pages when suddenly his phone rang, breaking the stillness.Without checking the caller ID, Jin casually answered, "Hello, who is this?"
"Is this Mr. Jeon’s husband?" a voice on the other side asked, catching Jin off guard.
"Uh, yeah, it is. Who's this?" Jin asked, his attention still mostly on his book.
There was a brief pause before the man on the other end said something that turned Jin's world upside down, "Sorry to inform you, but your husband has been in an accident—"
"WHAT?!"
Jin shot up from the couch, the book falling from his hands. His heart pounded, and he could feel a cold sweat breaking out.
"What the hell are you saying?! What happened? Who are you? Where is he?" he demanded, his voice frantic with worry.
"I'm sending you the location now. Please come quickly, it's an emergency," the voice instructed before hanging up.
Jin didn’t think twice. Grabbing his things, he ran out of the house, ignoring the guards and rushing to hail a cab. The ride felt like it took forever, and every second, his mind raced with terrifying thoughts. Something didn’t feel right—everything was too sudden, too strange.
When the cab finally stopped, Jin was confused. He found himself in front of a mansion, smaller than his but still elegant and imposing. Why here? Where was Jungkook?
One of the guards at the gate greeted him, "Good morning, Mr. Kim. Please, come in."
Still puzzled, Jin followed the guard inside. The mansion's interior was luxurious, but Jin was too worried to take it all in. Soon, they entered a large living room where an older man, probably in his fifties, sat with his legs crossed on the couch, exuding an aura of power.
Jin looked at him skeptically. "What is this? The grand entry of the antagonist? Old man, are you supposed to be a villain?" he quipped, surprising the guards, who weren’t used to such boldness in front of their master.
The older man chuckled at Jin's straightforwardness. "You’ve got quite the attitude," he mused, clearly entertained. "Though you’re right, I do look too old to be a villain."
Jin raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. "So what is this? A kidnapping? Why me tho? Is it because I’m too handsome or because I’m the husband of the great Jeon? Or is there some secret plot I’m missing?"
The man’s smile widened. "Well, well. My grandson sure married quite the chatterbox."
Jin froze, his confusion intensifying. "Wait, grandson? Your grandson... my husband?!" His eyes widened as realization dawned on him.
"That’s right," the older man said, gesturing for Jin to sit. "Have a seat, son. Today, you're going to learn quite a few things about your dear husband."
Despite the odd situation, Jin wasn’t scared. In fact, he was intrigued. With a casual shrug, he plopped down on the couch, staring at the man. "Okay, I’m listening. Spill it."
The older man studied Jin, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "You’re brave, aren’t you?"
Jin smirked, completely at ease. "Of course. Fear isn’t something I do."
"Well then," the man began, "there’s a lot you don’t know about Jungkook—things he probably hasn’t told you yet. Today, you’ll learn about his past, and why he’s kept certain things hidden from you."
