"Shh..." the man whispered, his voice firm yet oddly soothing as he quieted Jimin, who stood frozen in shock. Jimin’s eyes widened when he recognized the man—Jeon Jungkook.
Before Jimin could react, Jungkook gestured to his assistant, who had swiftly dealt with the man who had dared to lay hands on Jin earlier and harass Jimin.
The situation had shifted so fast that Jimin barely knew what was happening.
"Follow me," Jungkook commanded, his face expressionless, but there was a calm authority in his voice.
As Jimin followed, he couldn’t help but notice the subtle shift in Jungkook’s demeanor when he looked at Jin. His cold eyes softened, revealing a depth of emotion Jimin hadn't expected.
They entered a private VIP room, luxurious and bathed in red light, so vast that it felt more like a hidden paradise than part of the club. Jimin blinked in confusion as Jungkook's assistant brought a packet filled with ointments and balms.
Jungkook gently laid Jin's head in his lap, softly brushing the hair from his face. Jin’s cheeks were flushed, still red from where his mother had slapped him earlier that day.
With surprising tenderness, Jungkook began treating Jin’s face, his fingers moving delicately over the bruised skin.
"Don’t be confused," Jungkook spoke, his voice calm but carrying an unmistakable weight.
"You might know who I am, but let me introduce myself again. I’m Jungkook, the man marrying this beautiful person peacefully sleeping in my lap."
Jimin gulped, his heart racing. "I -I’m sorry... I know this is sudden, but Jin—he doesn’t want this marriage. Can’t you... please break it off?"
Jimin’s voice trembled. He was Jin’s best friend, and the idea of his friend being trapped in a marriage he hadn’t agreed to filled him with fear.
Hearing Jimin’s plea, Jungkook chuckled, his voice low and husky, sending chills down Jimin’s spine.
There was something about the way Jungkook laughed that felt intimate, unsettling, yet not outright malicious.
It only added to Jimin’s tension, unsure if he had angered the powerful man who was being so soft and caring toward Jin.
"My darling is lucky," Jungkook said quietly, almost to himself. "Lucky to have such a great friend like you." He smiled, but there was something dark and possessive behind it. "I like that you care for him."
Jimin blinked, confused by the sudden shift in tone. But what Jungkook said next hit like a bomb.
"But I can’t just call off the marriage I’ve waited eighteen years for," Jungkook said, his voice low and firm.
"W- what? Eighteen... Eighteen years?" Jimin echoed, his eyes widening in disbelief.
Jungkook's gaze never wavered from Jin’s peaceful face. "I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long. You see, Jin doesn’t remember me, honestly he never knew me... but I remember every second I’ve spent loving him, watching him in darkness, This marriage... it’s my destiny...our destiny, he's meant to be mine."
Jimin stared in stunned silence, the weight of Jungkook’s words settling over him like a heavy fog.
"Wh-what do you mean?" Jimin asked, his voice shaking with disbelief. His mind raced to understand what Jungkook was saying.
How could Jungkook claim to have waited for Jin for so long when Jin didn’t even know him?
Everything is so confusing!Jungkook looked down at Jin, gently brushing a lock of hair from his face. His smile was calm, but there was an intensity behind his eyes that made Jimin uneasy.
