How to ruin your happy married life?

Learn from Jin.

Jin cursed himself in every language he knew as he lay there, watching Jungkook silently turn his back to him. The bed felt colder, emptier than it ever had before.

"Good night, Jin," Jungkook’s voice was quiet, distant. The usual warmth in his tone was completely gone.

It hit Jin like a knife, twisting deep in his chest. He was so used to hearing Jungkook call him darling with that teasing, affectionate voice. Now, hearing his own name—just Jin—felt wrong. So wrong. It was as if Jungkook was saying he’d given up, that the distance between them wasn’t just in the bed but now in their hearts too.

Jin clenched his fists under the blanket, the weight of regret heavy in his chest. Why did I say that? The question gnawed at him, but it was too late now.

Jin spent the entire night cursing himself, unable to shake off the regret. When he finally woke up, his eyes blinked open to find himself alone in the bed. He shot up, immediately irritated.

What the FUCK! he thought, pouting. How dare he leave without a good morning?

Jin huffed, quickly freshening up before heading downstairs. The smell of delicious food hit him instantly, and for a second, he allowed himself to believe Jungkook was waiting in the kitchen, smiling like usual. But when he reached the dining area, his hopes shattered. No one was there—just freshly made food laid out meticulously on the table, served to perfection.

"Of course..." Jin sighed internally. Even when Jungkook was mad and distant, he still made sure to spoil Jin with all his favorite things.
That’s just how Jungkook was—always taking care of him, even when he shouldn’t.

It was so annoying, and yet, this was exactly what made Jin so attached.

Jin sulked as he shoveled a forkful of food into his mouth, calling his best friend—the one person who always had a solution for his messes.

"Jiminahhhhhhhhh! He hates me now! I knew it. He doesn't want me anymore, he doesn't want me to stay!" Jin cried, his voice muffled between bites of the delicious food Jungkook had made for him.

"Wait, wait… what happened?" Jimin asked, sounding confused. "Stop crying and just tell me!"

Jin sniffled. "We... we kissed."

"Okay… and why are you crying about that? Isn’t that a good thing?" Jimin pressed, bewildered.

"But... when things got heated, I suddenly said I don’t."

"...Huh?" Jimin was now completely lost.

"I said… I don't love it," Jin mumbled, his voice barely a whisper. "I- It was just a uhm...mistake, I just casually said it to look cool, you know what an idiot, bitch and one of a kind fool I am... And he totally misunderstood. He thought I was saying I don’t love him or that he makes me uncomfortable." Jin bit his lip, the guilt flooding back as he remembered the look on Jungkook’s face.

There was a long, heavy silence.

"What the fuck did you do, Jin?!" Jimin finally shouted. "Did you clear up the misunderstanding?"

"I... I didn’t know how to explain it," Jin admitted, slumping over the table. "He left before I could talk to him. Can you believe he didn’t even tell me about his business meeting and the big party tonight? He just left without a word. He doesn’t care at all!"
