"another hour, please." i was sitting at her desk while she sat sideways in my lap with her arms around me.

"tasia, you know i would rather be here with you until it's time to go, but i don't wanna bail on the guy like that. it’s only for a few hours, and we’ll be right back together."

"why couldnt he run into someone else?"

"i dont know, but this is the last time im giving anyone a tour."

she gave me a skeptical look, "as nice as you are, i know you're gonna do it again at least once or twice."

"okay, maybe one more time." i chuckled.

"yeah, exactly." there was a knock- had to have been tab. tasia hopped up and went to unlock it. there stood laila and tab.

"hey t– oop, are we interrupting something?" she looked over tasias shoulder at me.

"no, come in."

"mommy!" laila ran over to me.

"hey, pretty! you had fun with tabi?"

"yes!"

"your car is ready, raji."

"hey, instead of going with the driver, you can just take my car." tasia told me.

"nah, the driver is fine."

"the driver sure is– take my keys. tell the driver it's okay tab."

"okay" she left out, closing the door behind her.

"as nice as it would be to drive, i don't wanna do that. we will be back in a few, okay?"

"okay, i respect it. you two have fun..." she trailed off, lowering her head.

"okay, the driver is gone." tab came back.

"im so sorry, tab will you ask the driver to come back. laila, walk with tabi right fast, and ill see you in a few minutes, okay?"

"okay"

"i love you"

"i love you too"

"let's go, lai. oh, and i have a gift for you! ill have one come back, raj."

"yay!" she skipped out.

i locked the door and walked over to tasia, grabbing her waist before pulling her into me. i felt as if there was something else going on with her. i wouldn't have felt right leaving her like this.

"hey, look at me. what's the matter?" i sat at the edge of the desk with her in between my legs.

"nothing, im fi–"

"stop. i see you, and i see through you. you cant just tell me anything and expect me to believe it. i saw the way you looked. tell me what's on your mind, beautiful lady."

"you looked so happy to go. is it me and my sobbing you dont wanna be around all day? if it is, ill stop doing that."

whoever did this to her must see the devil. in jesus name (aunt d voice)

"whoa, pause."

"im so sorry..." she trailed off, wiping her eyes. i stood to my feet so we could switch positions. she sat down while i stood.

"listen, i don't ever want you to feel like you can't be vulnerable with me. i also don't want you feeling as if im tired of you or you expressing how you feel towards any situation. i want you to express yourself instead of holding all of that in and letting it turn into anger. ill never ever ever ever get tired of being around you. you could be sitting there making a bottle of wine from scratch, and ill sit there throughout the whole thing cheering you on. you are my safe space, and i wouldn't have it any other way."
