The Next Morning

Cody's P.O.V.

I woke up pretty early like I usually do because I just have the mindset of waking up early and going for a surf but I still had my arms around Stacey and I didn't want to move.

I looked at her clock and saw it was 9 AM, not as early as I thought and I would take Stacey but all the good waves are gone by 8:45, although the beach is right down the street.

"Hey Stacey," I whispered softly as she fluttered her eyes open. "What time is it?" Stacey asked.

"9, wake up I want to show you something." I said. "Do I have to?" She asked as she turned to face me. "Come on, it'll be fun, I promise." I said.

"Alright, do I need to change?" she asked me. "No, come on." I said as I got out of bed and bent down as she got on my back.

"Where are you giving me a piggy back ride too?" Stacey asked me. "You'll see when we get there." I said as we went downstairs and outside as I took her down the street to the beach.

I mean these waves are nothing like Huntington but they're a good second. "Good morning Cody and Cody's friend." Jay said as he winked at Stacey.

"What's up man?" I said. "Hi." Stacey said. "Where's your board dude?" Jay asked.

"Back home, couldn't quite carry my board and my girl right?" I said as Jay laughed. "Not your girl." Stacey reminded. "Right, can you get a chair for her she messed up her ankle." I asked.

"Yeah sure dude, look straight ahead you have my prime Cody's girl spot, which is usually occupied by your sister though." Jay said.

"Alright thanks mate, be right back." I said as I put Stacey down in the chair. "He seems nice." Stacey said.

"He has a girlfriend." I said. "All I said was he seems nice." Stacey said defensively. "He's a flirt, stay away from him." I said. "Again I just said he seems nice, now why am I here?" Stacey asked laughing.

"I'm going to show you surfing." I told her. "I know what surfing is Cody." Stacey said. "But you've never seen a professional." I said.

"I think you're a little far from professionalism." Stacey said. "I like to think of myself as a professional thank you very much." I said as I went to get a board from Jay and he was walking with me as I headed down to the water, stopping by Stacey.

"Are you sure you want to surf in those jeans Codes?" Stacey asked me. "I'll be fine; don't flirt with her while I'm in the water Jay." I said.

"Dude you have my word." Jay said. I so don't have his word.

Stacey's P.O.V.

"So how do you know Cody?" Jay asked me. "We're neighbors, plus he kind of discovered me." I said.

"You live down the road?" Jay asked. "Uh-huh." I said. "Maybe you can show me your house sometime gorgeous." Jay said.

"Maybe." I said with a smile as we kept talking as I was laughing and then Cody called from the edge of the water. "Knock it off Jay!" Cody called as he got in the water.

"The dude's got sick moves, you gotta watch." Jay said as we both turned to the water and Cody already found a wave to surf. "That's awesome!" I said excitedly.

"You know if you had a good enough teacher, you could do that too." Jay said. "Any good teachers you know?" I asked him. "Well me of course, if you come tomorrow morning I'd be happy to show you." Jay said as he smiled.

"Mate, what'd I say?" Cody asked as he came out of nowhere and put his arm around Jay getting him all wet. "I wasn't flirting with her." Jay said defensively.
