TimeDivine and I visited different apartment buildings, I was starting to become excited about my future and this new era I was entering.
"Divine, this is too much," I spoke in awe of the luxury downtown apartment we toured.
"You don't like it?" He asked.
"No, I love it. But do you think I need all of this space?" I asked as we walked behind the leasing agent, who was showing us a luxury apartment in downtown Atlanta. "Plus, the rent is like $3,000 a month. I don't want you-"
"Time, don't worry about that, I got it." Divine interrupted me.
"Divine, I have a trust fund I can access it now. I can help." I protested. I didn't feel right having Divine support me like this. I know he's only trying to provide, but he's supposed to be saving his money. A three-bedroom luxury apartment in the heart of Downtown Atlanta seemed a little too much right now.
"Time, I'm serious. I want you to use that money for the kids and your school and stuff. I got the rest, trust me." He whispered to me as the leasing agent led us to the master bedroom. "You're going to need the space."
My eyes widened at all the space. The apartment had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a washer and dryer unit, and all the luxury amenities that you can think of. The floor-to-ceiling windows, stainless steel appliances, marble counters, sleek barrel gold wood flooring.
In the bathrooms, open glass-doored showers, double sinks that sat on wide marble counters, and porcelain tile. This place was beautiful.
"Thank you, Divine. Seriously."
He chuckled slightly, "You don't have to thank me. You're carrying my children you deserve to be put in the best situation ever."
I looked up at him, wondering how on earth he made it so impossible to stay mad at him. He upset me with that call last week. I know he didn't know about my panic attack but I just thought it was unreasonable to be talking to me the way he was when I did nothing wrong.
But even with that being said, I am still glad when he visits me. His showing up for me the way he's doing makes me continue to see the good in him and excuse his behavior because I know he's trying his best.
We all fall short somewhere.
Throughout the tour, I examined each room and could see myself and my babies in them. It was a beautiful condo with the needed space and I needed to navigate this new era. I breathed in through my nose and took in the new house smell.
We continued the tour accessing the gym, spa, common area, and puppy park.
"I'll leave you two to talk things over, " The leasing agent told us after she ended the tour and showed us the modern rooftop terrace. Divine shook her hand before we sat under the patio, looking at the city structures and the beautiful crystal blue infinity pool.
I kicked my legs up in the comfy cushioned chaise lounge chair, "I can get used to this." I said with a smirk.
"I'm glad you like it. You good to stay at the hotel a little longer while we wait to get accepted?"
I nodded with a shrug, "Yes, I actually need the time to myself after everything that's been going on lately.." I told him.
"I'll be back in a couple more weeks for your next appointment. How the babies been treating you?" Divine asked.
I rubbed my belly with a smirk, "Still can't keep much down. But overall, okay. Am I tripping or is my stomach growing?" I bent down to look at the slight roundness of my abdomen area I'd noticed a few days ago.
