Chapter 72: I Can't Accept!
Zhai Muyang sat on the chair where Guo Chao had been sitting before, his brow furrowed in a deep expression.
Miao Jun came in and saw Song Yimo's pale face from the pain, feeling uneasy himself. "Yimo, if it's too painful, we can go back home."
By now, Song Yimo had slowly adjusted to this dull but continuous pain, and with loved ones by her side, she felt that she could endure anything.
"If I leave now, Song Yi will hound me for the rest of my life. I won't have a peaceful day until she dies. I can cope with that, but the world is so big, there are many places to go, but I can't let Grandma be burdened by following me away from home at her old age."
Song Yimo smiled and opened her eyes. "Miao Dad, Xinghu County is a good place. It has good mountains, good water, and good scenery. It's the perfect place to retire. What do you think, Dage?"
Zhai Muyang nodded, not mentioning in front of Miao Jun that he had already arranged for a geological team to conduct a comprehensive survey in Xinghu County, with pleasing results.
"So, there's nothing we can't endure."
Miao Jun couldn't say anything more seeing her like this, only feeling more convinced in his heart that Song Yi was not a good person.
"Muyang, stay with Yimo. I'll go out and see if there's any soup to replenish her body nearby."
Zhai Muyang agreed, and as soon as everyone left, he went to lock the door to the guest room. When he turned back, he saw Yimo sitting up on her own, biting her lip, clearly in pain.
Zhai Muyang hurried over, reaching out to help her but hesitating as he realized any touch would cause her pain. Just as he was in a dilemma, she grabbed his hand.
"It's not that bad. I've adapted to it."
Seeing her about to put on her shoes, Zhai Muyang didn't care anymore and asked, "Why are you getting up if you're in pain?"
"I want to drink water."
"Just tell me what you need. I'm here to take care of you, aren't I?" Saying this, Zhai Muyang poured water and brought it to her lips, serving her attentively.
Song Yimo lowered her eyes to drink the water, slowly finishing the glass.
She had forgotten once again that she was not alone this time, she didn't have to take care of herself, and she didn't have to drink less water because she didn't want to go to the bathroom.
As she thought about this, the pain in her body seemed to ease.
"Do you want more water?"
Song Yimo shook her head. "I want to read a book."
"No hurry, talk to me for a while." Zhai Muyang adjusted the bed to a semi-reclining position, making it easier for her, without exerting much effort.
Song Yimo didn't insist.
Zhai Muyang took out a stack of documents from his bag and showed her. "The preliminary preparations for e-commerce have been completed, and the funds are in place. We can officially launch after the new year."
Song Yimo didn't understand these business matters and only glanced at a few pages before looking away disinterested.
Zhai Muyang closed the documents with a smile and took out another one. "You should look at this one."
"Dage, you think too highly of me. I'm only a high school student and don't understand these documents." Song Yimo slowly turned her head and froze when she saw the title.
Equity split contract. It couldn't mean what she thought, could it?
Zhai Muyang skipped the irrelevant parts and showed her the results directly. "You own 30% of the shares, I own 70%. No matter how the shares are diluted in the future, your 30% will not change. Any shares that must be given away will also be managed by me. So, no matter when, you will always own 30% of the shares. Do you understand?"
Song Yimo looked up at him. "Dage, do you know how big of a cake e-commerce will be in the future? I only provided the idea for this from start to finish, I didn't contribute a single cent, yet you want me to have 30% of the shares. I can't accept it, and I dare not."
Zhai Muyang chuckled, knowing that Yimo's nature would indeed not accept this unexpected fortune.
"Don't underestimate this idea. It's a golden idea, a golden hen that will lay golden eggs. I didn't have this in my previous plans, but later realized that I almost missed out on something. Yimo, this market will bring more than just money in the future. You may not understand, but I do. Don't worry, Dage didn't lose out."
Song Yimo still shook her head, the pie hitting her had made her forget the pain in her body.
Zhai Muyang pulled out another document from the stack and showed it to her. "This is derived from e-commerce and has a bright future ahead as well."
The words "logistics" caught Song Yimo's eye, and she mentally gave a thumbs up to her big brother.
Some people are born businessmen, understanding the whole from just a part.
"Without your initial idea, this plan wouldn't exist. And I didn't plan to share the equity with you for this plan. Do you still think Dage is at a loss?"
"It's not about whether you're losing out or not, it's just that I feel uneasy holding onto this. Dage, how about you give me 1% instead, that would be enough for me."
After putting down the document, Zhai Muyang patted her head. "I can't just give you 1%. Be obedient, sign your name on it once you're feeling better."
Song Yimo didn't react. She thought even taking 1% would be greedy, but 1% would bring a lot of dividends!
Zhai Muyang didn't plan on changing his mind on this matter. Even if he had to deceive her, he would make Yimo sign that document. So, he magically pulled out a stack of drawings and photos from his bag, some of which fell on the bed.
Song Yimo picked up a picture of a waterfall and realized it was the first place she had taken her Zhai Muyang to that day.
Picking up a few more pictures, they were all places she had visited. She didn't need to be asked to know what her Dage had in mind.
Song Yimo looked up, pleasantly surprised. "Dage, you..."
"I have already confirmed the development." Zhai Muyang crossed his arms and looked at her joyful expression, then asked a redundant question, "Happy?"
Song Yimo nodded, feeling much happier about this than about owning shares.
However, her happiness was short-lived.
"Similar to e-commerce, you will own 30% of the shares."
Song Yimo couldn't laugh anymore. "Dage, you can't do this, I can't possibly accept."
Seeing her like this, Zhai Muyang couldn't help but laugh. "Both of these are long-term investments, looking at long-term benefits. In the next three to five years, there will probably only be small ripples, with no tangible rewards. So, don't worry about feeling pressured about money."
But the problem is burning now or later makes no difference!
Zhai Muyang patted her head. "Don't feel pressured. Both of these golden egg-laying hens were brought to me by you. You deserve this much. You're my sister, and I can't let my sister be at a disadvantage. What kind of brother would I be then?"
Song Yimo didn't know how to argue back, so she could only resist with silence.
"This isn't something that needs to be rushed. We'll talk about it later. But don't discuss this with anyone, it's best if Uncle Miao and Grandma don't know either. People's hearts can't handle these things, so don't easily probe into it."
Having lived two lifetimes, Song Yimo naturally understood this principle. "I understand, I won't tell anyone."
