The Miyagi-Dos had entered the foyer from the right after having been given detention from Counsellor Blatt and changed into the clothes that they had arrived to school in.
The bell rang for another class to begin as the students followed their respective leader; Sam. They turned the corner with their backpacks slung over their shoulders. Slowing to a stop when they saw Hawk and his group of Cobras staring at them.
Hawk casually leaned against a large pillar while glaring at the weaker dojo. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Phoebe on the stairs with her head in her phone. He turned away to talk to his friends.
Demetri noticed Sam tensing up in fury, "There's nothing we can do, Sam. It's Chinatown." His other teammates glanced to each other confused. "Oh, come on. Try seeing a movie that doesn't have the words 'fast' or 'furious' in it."
"That's it. We're not taking their anymore of their crap." Sam snapped, while storming over to the Cobras.
Demetri and the Miyagi-Dos shared a look and followed her to back her up.
The Cobras noticed her coming and began to walk towards them, meeting them halfway in the middle.
Sam got all up in Hawk's face, "You think you're hot shit for getting out of detention?" Her outburst had gained the attention of the other students in the foyer.
Phoebe glanced up from her phone to see what was going on. Standing up and slightly leaning over the railing, she could see and hear all perfectly.
Hawk answered Sam's question with a smug expression on his face, "Yeah."
"You're nothing but a bunch of pussies."
"What the hell you'd just say to me?"
Sam leaned in further, almost nose to nose with him, "There will come a time when mommy won't be there. But we will be. And we'll be ready." Feeling strong, she turned and left with the Miyagi-Dos in tow.
Hawk glowered as she walked away. To him and the rest of them, it was clear that her challenge was received loud and clear. He turned back to his friends. "They want a fight? Let's give it to them."
Phoebe cleared her throat.
The group of Cobras all looked up to her.
"Phoebe, what you doing? Eavesdropping?"
"No. Thinking." She walked down the stairs to be on the same level as them. She focused on no one but her boyfriend. "Thanks for getting me out of detention earlier. I didn't know you could act so...innocent."
"One of my many talents."
"If I didn't know what you did beforehand, you even would have convinced me."
Hawk wondered where this was going. "How was practice?"
"Tiring, despite what it looked like to you. It took a lot out of me, but it was also awesome. It was good to be back at something again."
He nodded, "I'm sure it was."
"I've never seen a football match like that. It also looked exhausting, but I'm sure, like me, that you have the energy for other activities."
He gave her a questioning look. Though, he knew exactly what she was talking about.
"I also think you're hot shit." She added with a flirtatious smile, gently touching his arm.
Hawk wondered why on Earth she was flirting with him so openly with his Cobra friends right next to him. He kept his composure of being the cool bad boy by shrugging off her hand. Though he knew that she knew that he meant the opposite. Seemingly unphased by her seduction, he asked, "What do you want, Phoebe?"
