One minute, two minutes, three minutes.

Her body felt no discomfort. Her racing heart gradually calmed down. Zhang Wan Ying touched her arm, where there was no sign of the injection, with a puzzled expression.

No feeling. Had it worked?

She tried to stand up and walk a few steps, turning around in place. Still, she felt nothing. Now, she was completely baffled. This reagent was so gentle.

She stayed in the room for about half an hour, still feeling nothing. Zhang Wan Ying decided to go back, feeling a little disappointed.

Maybe she hadn't successfully activated her ability. Perhaps the negative effects had been negated, so her body didn't feel anything. She sighed and walked towards the door.

However, the moment her fingers touched the doorknob, a wave of dizziness washed over her. Her head felt like it had been struck by a spiked club, a throbbing pain that felt like it was splitting open.

She stumbled backward, her body crashing to the ground. But compared to the headache, the pain of the fall was nothing.

Zhang Wan Ying covered her head and closed her eyes in pain. Fragments of scenes rushed into her mind, vying for space, regardless of whether she could handle them.

These fragments seemed to involve her, appearing in her consciousness like holographic projections.

The first fragment: she was tackled by a female zombie wearing an apron. The zombie opened its bloody maw and bit down on her neck. The fragment abruptly ended.

The next fragment began with a cacophony of sounds filling her ears: a baby's cries, someone's desperate screams, and piercing shrieks.

She stood on a high wall, looking down at the scene below, a river of blood flowing like hell. There were thousands of zombies reaching up towards her, their hands clawing at the wall.

This fragment quickly disappeared. Then, she found herself in a dark, damp room. There were many corpses around her, their eyes wide open in death. What made them terrifying was that they were covered in sharp black spines, like porcupines.

In the center of those corpses stood a person covered in blood. The person slowly turned to look at her, their face expressionless and hollow. The face was so familiar.

Mo Ran!

Zhang Wan Ying woke up with a gasp. She looked up at the ceiling, her head throbbing. The splitting headache gradually subsided, but she didn't feel any better.

What did those fragments mean? What were those corpses? Why was Mo Ran there?

Could it be...

A bold idea popped into her mind. Perhaps this was the ability she had activated, and those fragments were things that would happen in the future.

So, her ability was... precognition!

Her mind suddenly felt clear. She didn't immediately delve into the meaning of those fragments, but quickly left the room and returned to the water tower. Fortunately, Mo Ran and the others were still asleep and hadn't noticed her going out at night.

Only after she lay down in her sleeping bag did Zhang Wan Ying start to ponder those fragments. They were incredibly vivid, as if she was experiencing them firsthand, but they were also nonsensical, with no indication of time or place.

But she felt that these fragments were important clues. She just didn't know if the order was chronological. As she thought about it, she drifted off to sleep.
