"Why are you looking at me like that? Is my face dirty?" Zhang Wanying touched her face shyly. "I can't help it, I haven't washed in a long time. But under these circumstances, we can only make do."

"You," Mo Ran hesitated. "Don't you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

She still felt something was wrong. If zombies didn't have the ability to infect, they wouldn't have spread so quickly. Even if she had luckily not been infected, just lying down for two days would have been enough to make her worse?

That was a claw from a zombie, the wound was so deep. Besides, the other girl hadn't eaten a single grain of rice in the past two days. It was really hard to believe that such a weakling had such a strong physique.

"Why are you asking that? Well, if I have to say," Zhang Wanying's face flushed red. "That, I, I kind of want to go to the bathroom..."

After she stammered out the sentence, Mo Ran immediately understood and diligently found a bucket for her. Then, the two of them could be ashamed together.

After solving their physiological problems, the two sat facing each other in silence. It wasn't that they didn't want to talk, but they didn't know what to say.

Putting aside all the dangers, they were temporarily safe. But in a safe environment, Mo Ran couldn't find a topic to talk to Zhang Wanying about.

To be honest, they were just strangers who had only met recently. Besides, Mo Ran had disliked her before. It didn't seem like they could chat at all.

But they had also escaped death together twice, so no matter what, they had developed a sense of sympathy for each other.

"We can't stay here for long," Zhang Wanying broke the silence first.

Mo Ran hummed in agreement. She knew that too.

First of all, there was no food here. It was impossible to live without eating or drinking. Secondly, the conditions here were too primitive. Even in the apocalypse, where you couldn't be picky, you should at least find a place with a roof to live in.

If it rained, getting soaked was a minor issue, but catching a cold and having a fever would lower their resistance, which would be a major problem. They were lucky that it hadn't rained these past two days, but what about the future?

So, this rooftop was definitely not a place they could stay for long. They needed to make plans for the next step as soon as possible, which inevitably led to a discussion about their families.

"I'm going to leave school and go home," Mo Ran said seriously. "What about you?"

When Mo Ran mentioned the word "home," Zhang Wanying's body trembled violently, but she didn't show much reaction, so Mo Ran, who was a bit of a klutz, didn't notice that the other girl was feeling uneasy.

Her delicate eyelashes flickered, and Zhang Wanying asked a question that wasn't related to the topic. "Where's your home?"

"It's in the neighborhood near the school. It's about a five-minute walk, pretty close. But it might take a while to get there now," Mo Ran sighed.

She hadn't stopped thinking about her family these past few days. To be honest, she was most worried about the situation at home. Although she had Mo Bai, who was even more athletic than her, she was still very anxious.

She always felt uneasy. The future was unpredictable. Just like how she went to the bathroom that day, it was a normal day, but who knew that the world would end?

The unknown was terrifying.

So, she had to go home as soon as possible, then find a way out with her family. Human beings have such tenacious vitality, they couldn't just die out all at once.
