"How could it spread so quickly?" Huang Shan's face turned pale.

"This virus can be transmitted through the air. People with weaker constitutions are more likely to be infected. This city is such a large virus zone. Those zombies can carry the virus thousands of miles away just by standing still." Lin Keren patiently explained.

"Then why are we okay?" Zhang Wan Ying asked, a hint of doubt in her eyes.

There was no reason for her to tell them such confidential information, and she was telling them in such detail, with a very good attitude. It was too suspicious and too deliberate.

"The human body isn't that fragile. People who survive the first wave of the virus in the water will develop antibodies. As long as you don't eat or get zombie blood on your wounds, you won't be infected." Lin Keren said, looking meaningfully at Zhang Wan Ying.

Zhang Wan Ying felt a chill run down her spine when she met her gaze. Her calf instinctively tightened, as if the pain of being torn open by a sharp blade was still lingering.

She had a vague feeling in her coma that someone had injected her with something and drawn blood from her. When she woke up, she was in this research institute. Then, she discovered that she had no wounds.

Not only the new wound on her calf, but also the scars she had received before had disappeared. She knew that something had changed in her body, but she didn't know what, so she felt uneasy.

This research institute gave her a creepy feeling, and after hearing Lin Keren's words, this feeling intensified.

"Any more questions?" Lin Keren silently observed the expressions on their faces and asked.

"You're committing a crime by doing these experiments!" Huang Shan couldn't help but say.

"That was true before the apocalypse. Now, who cares?" Lin Keren replied nonchalantly.

Besides, even before the apocalypse, this research institute was doing well. Because the subjects of the experiments were mostly poor children who were bought or abandoned infants, they were all undocumented, so there was nowhere to investigate.

"Because of your negligence..." Mo Ran suddenly stood up, her face gloomy. "You caused the end of the world."

She was so angry.

Mo Ran hadn't been this angry when she saw Li Si throw people out to be bait. But this research institute, and this Lin Keren, made her incredibly furious.

Lin Keren raised her eyelashes slightly. "Please don't say that to me. The zombie thing has nothing to do with me."

"Why can you speak so calmly? Because you can stay out of it, so everyone else's business is none of your concern?" Mo Ran looked at her emotionless eyes angrily.

"Ran Ran?" Zhang Wan Ying didn't understand why Mo Ran was suddenly like this. She looked at her with concern.

Lin Keren pursed her lips, said nothing, and silently looked at Mo Ran, as if she were looking at a silly child who was being unreasonable.

"Do you know how many people died because of this disaster? How many people who are still alive are living in fear every day!" Mo Ran suddenly reached out and grabbed Lin Keren's collar, venting her emotions loudly.

"You say it has nothing to do with you. Did you not know about the zombie reagent when it was being developed? Did everyone immediately turn into zombies as soon as the reagent flowed into the sewers?"

Lin Keren just looked at Mo Ran, her eyes as calm as a still pond. "It's very rude to grab a lady's collar like that. You're too rough."

"If you hadn't researched these things, or even if you had told the government about it before the reagent flowed into the sewers, this disaster wouldn't have happened. Don't act like you're not involved. None of you here are innocent. You're all accomplices to this disaster."
