"Shut up. When did it become your turn to lecture me?" Lin Keren raised her head and glared at him, her emotions back to normal.

The man shrugged noncommittally, then shifted his gaze to Zhang Wan Ying. His words were brief. "Just you. Come with me. The doctor wants to see you."

Perhaps sensing her reluctance, the man added, "I'm not as merciful as this woman. If you don't want your companions to be missing parts, you better listen."

Zhang Wan Ying's expression was very ugly. The man's words were full of threats. She had no chance to refuse. These people were clearly after her.

She couldn't let Mo Ran risk herself for her again. She made up her mind, looking up at Mo Ran's profile with a hint of longing, a flicker of regret in her eyes.

Mo Ran was in a bad mood. Why did everyone keep targeting Zhang Wan Ying? Good things never came her way, but bad things always seemed to be vying for her.

What did they want Zhang Wan Ying for? Were they going to use her for those terrifying human experiments?

"I said, you guys..." Did you ask her opinion? You're just talking about it without her consent. Mo Ran's face was grim.

"Ran Ran," Zhang Wan Ying suddenly pulled her hand, stopping her mid-sentence. She smiled gently. "Thank you."

"What for... Don't worry, I'll never let them take you." Mo Ran clenched her fist, her eyes firm.

Zhang Wan Ying shook her head gently. She was already very satisfied. This was the first time she had been protected and valued like this. If she could, she would really like to stay with Mo Ran in this apocalypse.

But it seemed like that wasn't possible now. Mo Ran's palm was warm, but she had to let go.

The slightly cool temperature in her hand gradually slipped away until it disappeared. Mo Ran looked at her in confusion, not understanding what this meant.

Zhang Wan Ying turned her head away, avoiding her gaze, and looked at Lin Keren behind her. "Lin Keren."

Suddenly called by name, Lin Keren reflexively responded, looking at the girl with immunity in confusion. She was surprised that she remembered her name, because she had never cared what her name was.

Zhang Wan Ying smiled sincerely at her and thanked her. "Thank you for saving us back then. I'll leave it to you from now on."

Lin Keren was stunned for a moment before she understood what she meant. A strange emotion flashed in her eyes. She raised her hand and released a water prison around Mo Ran and Huang Shan.

"What do you mean, Zhang Wan Ying?" Mo Ran looked at the familiar water layer appearing around her in disbelief.

She didn't answer her, but brushed past her and walked towards the red-eyed man.

Mo Ran watched helplessly as Zhang Wan Ying walked out with the man. Even when she screamed, she didn't look back once.

It wasn't until they were out of sight that she realized that she had really left with the red-eyed man.

A huge sense of powerlessness descended upon her, followed by frustration and resentment. She really wanted to grab her by the shoulders, shake her awake, and ask her why she did this.

But she couldn't even break the water prison around her and chase after her.

Lin Keren calculated the time, estimating that they were already far away, before releasing the water prison. She was very careful not to let the water splash on them.
