A bloody, mangled humanoid figure was desperately trying to squeeze out of the narrow space, roaring at her and reaching out to grab her.

Who could withstand such a sight?

Mo Ran's mind went blank for a moment, then she immediately jumped into the last stall. The other girl was already there, her legs trembling nervously.

Mo Ran glanced at her, thinking, "This girl is so delicate," and her expression softened. She didn't realize that the other girl was just full of questions for her.

Think about it, a normal teenage girl in the middle of using the bathroom suddenly discovers a cannibalistic monster in the toilet. She hasn't even recovered from the fear yet.

Then, a strong person from the next stall jumps in and forces her to change her skirt. Her mind is just a jumbled mess.

"Have you ever seen a zombie movie?" Mo Ran lifted her face, her expression serious.

"Ah," Zhang Wan'ying blinked, a flicker of recognition in her eyes. "I've seen Resident Evil."

"Good. What we're facing now is exactly what happens in Resident Evil. I can't explain much because I'm just as clueless as you are. Let's get out of here first."

Mo Ran blurted out this string of words, not caring if the other girl could even process it. She turned away and leaned out the window, surveying the terrain.

Zhang Wan'ying stared at her back, a mixture of confusion and disbelief on her face. She understood each individual word, but together, it felt like something out of a middle school drama.

She had every reason to disbelieve her, to leave the bathroom and find a teacher or classmate for help. But for some reason, a knot of fear had tightened in her stomach.

The monster-like growls coming from the stall across the way, the eerily silent schoolyard after school hours... no, maybe it wasn't silent.

The bathroom was far from the classrooms, nestled between a few offices, but most of the teachers had already gone home.

That meant, if there was any noise coming from the classrooms, they wouldn't hear it here. If this was a zombie movie, what would those zombies be doing right now?

The answer sent a wave of icy dread washing over Zhang Wanying. Her face went pale. Mo Ran turned back to see her, her expression vacant, and her brow furrowed in concern.

"No time to daydream. If we stay here any longer, that thing is going to crawl out."

The girl's voice snapped Zhang Wanying out of her trance. She pursed her lips, realizing she was already on this crazy ship. There was nothing left to do but trust this girl.

"Whatever you say, I'll do it."

The unwavering trust in her voice made Mo Ran raise an eyebrow. She had expected more resistance, more argument.

This girl's obedience actually made Mo Ran's opinion of her soften a bit. She started to explain her hastily-made plan.

It wasn't really a plan, it was more like a series of adjustments made necessary by the presence of this cumbersome burden. If she were alone, she could have easily climbed out.

They were currently on the third floor. Next to the window was a water pipe that ran all the way down to the bathroom on the first floor.

Next to the pipe was the air conditioner unit outside the office. It was mounted on a sturdy iron frame, and about a meter to the right of the frame was the windowsill outside the classroom.
