"Be quiet. Don't speak unless I ask you to," Lin Keren said calmly, as if Mo Ran's expression, which was filled with a desire to skin her alive, had no effect on her.
"I was bitten a week ago. I woke up after two days of unconsciousness. I didn't die, and I wasn't infected," Zhang Wan Ying quickly repeated, afraid that she would anger her and get another blow to the head.
Lin Keren looked at Zhang Wan Ying's face, her eyes deepening. "Where's the wound?"
"On my left calf." Zhang Wan Ying said quickly.
Her gaze moved down to her calf. Lin Keren squinted at the shapely, fair-skinned calf. She reached out and touched it. The feel was so good that it didn't look like there had ever been a scar.
"It healed completely in just a week?" She grabbed her slender ankle, then, to her surprise, lifted her up with one hand.
Zhang Wan Ying was stunned and struggled desperately, but it was useless. Her face was facing down, her leg was dragged along the ground without any gentleness, her palm rubbing against the ground, burning with pain.
What was this woman trying to do!
Mo Ran watched the scene, furious. The leg that had been restraining her head was gone, but she still couldn't get up. Watery substances had appeared around her, she didn't know when.
These watery substances flexibly wrapped around her body. Mo Ran tried to tear them apart with her hands, but they quickly closed back up, becoming thicker and colder.
These waters condensed together, like a soft, elastic cage, imprisoning her. Mo Ran could move, but she couldn't get out. She could only watch helplessly.
Lin Keren dragged her to a zombie corpse, plunged the ice knife in her hand into the zombie's mouth, and then pulled it out, covered in blood.
Zhang Wan Ying immediately had a bad feeling. She nervously looked around. There were corpses everywhere, even scattered body parts.
She couldn't care less.
Zhang Wan Ying gritted her teeth, grabbed a severed hand nearby, flipped over, and swung it towards Lin Keren's head. "Pop," the recoil from hitting the hard object shook her hand.
It was a piece of ice condensed in the air, like a protective shield, blocking the beautiful, expressionless face. It quickly shattered into pieces and fell to the ground.
"Sneak attack?" Lin Keren tilted her head, her sweet voice sounding like a demon speaking.
Zhang Wan Ying looked at her fearfully. Her left leg was still held in the other woman's hand, but she had no desire to resist.
Lin Keren glanced at Mo Ran, who was glaring at her from inside the water prison, then at Huang Shan, who was trembling with fear. She felt bored.
The girl stopped her little movements. She didn't want to care about her sneak attack. She changed the position of the ice knife in her hand, pointing the tip downwards, and plunged it into the delicate calf, slashing downwards.
The pain of being torn apart spread throughout her body. Zhang Wan Ying screamed, tears streaming down her face. She didn't understand why this woman she had just met would do this.
Lin Keren slashed a long gash and retracted her hand, stepping aside. The ice knife stuck in the wound slowly melted into water, flowing into the calf that was spurting black blood.
A burning pain, like fire, spread from her calf to her entire body. Zhang Wan Ying looked at the ground with red eyes, a strange desire to roar coming from her throat.
