The zombie behind her let out a disgruntled roar and fell to the ground. Mo Ran snapped out of her daze, her spine tingling. She turned her head, realizing that if it hadn't been for that hammer blow, she would have been dead.

She quickly grabbed the hammer and slammed it into the fallen zombie's skull, delivering the final blow. Then, she rushed towards the door.

She kicked a nameless zombie in the chest, using it as a springboard to push the zombies behind it out of the way. Then, she quickly closed and locked the door.

There were about seven or eight zombies that had entered the rooftop. They were quickly dealt with. Although she wasn't happy about it, she had to admit that the boys' fighting ability was generally stronger than the girls'.

Except for a few timid boys and the two girls, everyone else worked together to throw the zombie corpses off the rooftop. The sound of them hitting the ground attracted the zombies that were still pounding on the door.

They had a brief respite on the rooftop. Li Si wiped the sweat and blood off his face, bent down to grab some water from his backpack, when he was punched in the face again, this time on the right side.

Now, both sides of his face were evenly bruised.

He was stunned for a moment, then glared fiercely at the culprit. The culprit met his gaze coldly, stepped forward, grabbed his collar, and glared at him with a fierce look.

"Why did you use those two girls as bait?" Mo Ran's words were practically squeezed out between her teeth.

Li Si's glasses were broken in half, dangling on his face. He simply ripped them off, his narrowed eyes filled with disdain and mockery.

"What, do you want to accuse me from the perspective of a savior, Miss Saint? If I hadn't done that, the zombies chasing us wouldn't be just these few. You should be thanking me. Without me playing the villain, we would all be dead," his cutting voice echoed in the quiet rooftop.

"You filthy bastard..." Zhang San clenched his fist, the knuckles cracking, ready to strike.

Li Si raised his hand to stop Zhang San's action, his expression now calm, his gaze flat as he looked at the girl whose face had turned pale with anger.

Mo Ran was a brute, something he had known since elementary school. He, Mo Ran, and Huang Shan had been classmates from elementary to high school.

The difference was that Huang Shan and Mo Ran could be buddies, but Li Si disliked her. He found her irritating, or perhaps more familiar, because in his eyes, women should be gentle and serve as a man's dutiful companion.

But Mo Ran didn't fit his idea of beauty. Her personality was rash and impulsive, and she had a bad temper.

Other tomboys might struggle to open a bottle with one hand, but she could twist a person's head with one hand. Who would like a woman like that?

But he did admit that Mo Ran was powerful, at least physically. He wouldn't retaliate against her for a momentary anger.

He wasn't stupid. Even if he could overpower her, he wouldn't. It would waste energy, and if he got injured, there was no medicine to treat him.

"Besides, the ones I abandoned were just a couple of useless burdens who couldn't pull their weight. They would only drag us down," Li Si continued, trying to make Mo Ran understand his profound thoughts.

"Heh." The girl gave him an awkward yet polite smile, then punched him in the eye.

"Damn it!" Li Si rubbed his eye, a hint of anger creeping in. "You really think I wouldn't hit a woman?"
