Had the Doctor really abandoned them?

250 gritted his teeth. His mental strength was severely depleted after using his abilities extensively in the control room.

His nerves were exhausted, but he still refused to believe that he had become a pawn. And neither did his team members.

Since activating his abilities, he had been one of the direct subordinate ability teams of the Blue Star Guardian Squad, captain of the Manipulation Ability Team One. He and his team members mainly worked on logistics at the headquarters.

He had done so much for Blue Star, half out of necessity and half out of his own will. He had been here since he had memories, Blue Star was his home, and the Doctor was like a parent figure.

Even though the activation process had been painful, after succeeding, he was no longer subjected to those experiments. He could also freely enter and exit Blue Star when not on a mission, and there were unlimited supplies of all his needs, money was also available for the taking.

Sometimes he even felt that it was enjoyable to get along with the researchers at the institute, and his relationship with his teammates was pretty good. In short, he was living a good life here.

So, even though the Doctor was not a good person and often did terrible things to them, the ability users, he never imagined that he would be abandoned.

After all, he was one of the owners of the native elemental abilities, and he had been so loyal to the Doctor all these years. Now, to abandon him just like that... had the Doctor never taken him seriously?

This heartless old man.

"Captain, what do we do? Are we going to die here? Where did the Doctor go? Why didn't he go stop the self-destruction program? The institute is about to explode!" An ability user's voice, tinged with tears, startled 250.

The cold, mechanical female voice had already counted down to the last minute, but the zombies swarmed around them like locusts, an endless horde.

The pile of corpses was also obstructing their path. If they were held here for too long, they wouldn't be able to return to the surface and would end up exploding with Blue Star.

"The Doctor has already left with those ability users, so I don't know what to do either." 250 said, feeling defeated.

Mo Ran knocked a zombie's head off and kicked it towards a few more that were charging towards them, using the brief opportunity to check on the others.

She was exhausted, Huang Shan seemed to be in a lot of pain. He was the weakest in the group physically, and he could collapse at any time. The speed at which 250 and the other ability users were killing zombies was gradually slowing down. He Shang and Lin Keren seemed to be doing relatively well.

But no matter how well they were doing, the fact that they were trapped here couldn't be changed. There are too many of them, and ants can topple an elephant. If they kept this up, they would all be exhausted.

Besides, they were out of time. The last minute countdown, with the zombies surrounding them, how could they possibly break out and reach the surface?

The voice of doom echoed relentlessly: "45, 44, 43, 42..."

Calm down, Mo Ran tried to suppress the anxiety in her heart. The more chaotic the situation, the more important it was to stay clear-headed. If they panicked now, they were truly finished. There must be a way to reach the surface.

She took a deep breath and looked up at the ceiling. Through her right eye, she could see the metallic shapes around her. This institute really was a fortress, even the ceiling was made of steel.
