The current situation: two people (Mo Ran and the cat girl) were unconscious, one person (Huang Shan) was unable to fight, and the other exhausted surviving ability users, including Lin Keren, He Shang, and 250.

Other than that, all other humans within Blue Star were dead.

This conclusion was terrifying. Surrounded as they were, they were so weak. How could they fight their way out, carrying the injured with them?

The answer was, it was impossible.

They couldn't fight their way out. Even if they managed to escape by chance, they would quickly be caught by the zombies due to exhaustion, unless they could quickly leave the area while escaping or eliminate a large number of zombies.

It was clear that they didn't have the conditions for either of those two scenarios, so they couldn't fight their way out. They might be able to hold out for a while longer, but soon they would become zombie droppings.

He Shang was acutely aware of this inevitable outcome. He glared at the zombies with a mixture of anger and resignation. If he left these people behind and ran on his own, he might be able to escape, but he couldn't do that.

The others didn't matter, but Lin Keren was still here. With her personality, she definitely wouldn't run with him. Even if it meant dying here, she wouldn't abandon these people.

"Damn it." He spat out a mouthful of foul breath, resigned to his fate, and began to use his abilities to attack the zombies that had already reached them.

Lin Keren pulled a steel pipe out of the rubble and condensed a sharp ice axe on the end of it. She charged forward to engage the zombies.

250 sat on the ground, legs shaking, despairing as he watched the two of them. He could no longer use his abilities. Close combat and hand-to-hand combat were his weaknesses. He couldn't even put up a fight. All he wanted to do now was to wait to die.

"Captain, don't give up! We're still here!" A female ability user came forward and patted him on the shoulder, her eyes resolute.

"Can you guys still fight?" 250 turned to look at his three remaining team members.

Their Manipulation Ability Team One originally had fifteen ability users, now they were down to just four. They were always focused on logistics and didn't have much combat power to begin with. Now, in such an exhausted state, they were at a disadvantage no matter how you looked at it.

"I can still fight, Captain. This is where I can exert the maximum power of my ability. Although my mental strength is very depleted, I can still contribute a little." The female ability user said with a smile.

250 was stunned. He finally remembered her ability, and a glimmer of hope appeared on his face. But it quickly faded. He knew it was just a desperate struggle.

Once they ran out of abilities, they would still be dead.

"We can fight too." The other two ability users said in unison. "Let's fight with you to the very end. Even if the worst happens, please don't give up hope and wait to die."

They had been working together for years, and they had already developed a tacit understanding. A simple glance was all they needed to understand how resolute each other's beliefs were.

"You..." 250's eyes welled up. Even though he was the captain, he wasn't as strong or reliable as these team members.

Lin Keren swung her axe, felling a small group of zombies, and was about to catch her breath when she noticed that the zombies she had felled were slowly standing up. It was a horrifying sight.
