'Cause I have hella feelings for you
I act like I don't fucking care
'Cause I'm so fucking scaredI'm only a fool for you
The rain fell in torrents, soaking the streets and turning the city into a symphony of dripping water and distant thunder. Beneath the glow of a flickering streetlamp, Leehan stood, his chest heaving, his hair plastered to his forehead, and his fists clenched at his sides. Every inch of him was drenched, from his shoes squelching in puddles to the soaked fabric of his jacket clinging to his skin. But he didn't care.
None of it mattered—not the cold seeping into his bones, not the late hour, not even the sharp ache in his chest. The only thing he could focus on was Taesan, standing a few feet away, too calm, too composed, even as the rain streamed down his face.
Leehan's voice cracked as he shouted, the words escaping his throat like a dam breaking. "Why do you keep doing this to me? Why do you keep playing these games?" His voice carried over the sound of the storm, raw and trembling. "If you don't care, then just say it. Say it, and I'll leave. I'll walk away right now."
Taesan didn't move. His dark eyes remained fixed on Leehan, his expression unreadable, maddeningly steady. The rain cascaded down his sharp jawline, pooling at the hollow of his throat, but he didn't seem to notice.
"Say it!" Leehan demanded, his voice rising as he took a step closer. "Say you don't care, and I'll be gone. I won't bother you again."
Taesan's lips parted, but no sound came out. His silence was deafening, his stillness infuriating.
Leehan let out a bitter laugh, the sound hollow and laced with pain. "You're a coward, you know that? You act so untouchable, like nothing gets to you, but the truth is, you're just scared. You're scared to feel anything real."
Taesan's jaw tightened, his hands buried deep in his pockets. For a moment, it looked like he might turn away, and Leehan's heart clenched at the thought.
But then, Taesan stepped forward.
His movements were slow, deliberate, as if every step took effort. When he finally spoke, his voice was low, barely audible over the rain, but it cut through the storm like a blade. "You think I don't feel anything? You think this is easy for me?"
Leehan's breath caught, his body tense as Taesan closed the distance between them. There was something dangerous in his eyes now, something raw and unfiltered.
"You drive me insane," Taesan continued, his voice trembling with an edge of desperation. "Every time I see you, every time you smile, every time you're near me, I can't breathe. You're in my head, Leehan. You're under my skin, and no matter what I do, I can't get you out."
Leehan's heart pounded, his anger wavering as Taesan's words sunk in. "Then why do you keep pushing me away?" he asked, his voice softer now, almost pleading. "Why do you make me feel like I'm the only one who cares?"
Taesan's hand shot out, grabbing Leehan's wrist with a force that sent a shiver through him. His grip was firm, almost bruising, but Leehan didn't pull away.
"Because I'm terrified," Taesan admitted, his voice breaking. His eyes bore into Leehan's, every emotion he'd been hiding now laid bare. "Terrified of what happens if I let myself feel this. Terrified of what happens if I lose you."
The confession hit Leehan like a tidal wave, stealing the air from his lungs. His lips parted, but no words came out. The rain seemed to grow quieter, the world narrowing to just the two of them.
"Do you know how hard it is to care about someone so much it hurts?" Taesan's voice cracked, his fingers tightening around Leehan's wrist. "To feel like they're the only thing that matters, but you're too afraid to tell them because you're scared they'll leave anyway?"
Leehan stared at him, his own tears mixing with the rain. "I'm not going anywhere," he whispered, his voice trembling. "No matter how many times you push me away, no matter how much you try to shut me out, I'll still be here. I'm not afraid of you, Taesan."
Taesan's breath hitched, his grip loosening as his gaze dropped to Leehan's lips. The tension between them was unbearable now, the air thick with something that had been building for far too long.
"Don't say things like that," Taesan murmured, his voice barely audible. "Not unless you mean it."
"I mean every word," Leehan replied, stepping closer until their faces were only inches apart. His voice was steady now, his anger replaced by something softer, more vulnerable. "I hate you for making me feel this way. I hate how much I want you, how much I need you."
Taesan's hand moved from Leehan's wrist to his jaw, his touch surprisingly gentle despite the storm raging around them. "You think I don't feel the same?" he asked, his voice laced with both frustration and longing.
The distance between them vanished as Taesan leaned in, his lips capturing Leehan's in a kiss that was anything but gentle. It was fierce and messy. It was desperate.
Leehan gasped against Taesan's mouth, his hands fisting the front of his shirt as he pulled him closer. Their bodies pressed together, heat radiating between them despite the cold rain soaking them to the bone.
When they finally broke apart, both of them were breathing hard, their foreheads pressed together. The world seemed to pause, the storm fading into the background.
"I hate you," Leehan whispered, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
"I hate you too," Taesan replied, his voice soft but laced with amusement.
Leehan laughed, the sound light and breathless. "You're an idiot."
Taesan smiled, his thumb brushing over Leehan's cheek. "Maybe. But I'm your idiot."
For the first time that night, the rain didn't feel so cold. It didn't feel like the storm was something to endure—it felt like it had been waiting for this moment, cleansing the chaos between them, leaving only clarity in its wake.
And as they stood there, soaked and breathless, Leehan realized he didn't care about anything else. Not the rain, not the fear, not even the uncertainty of what came next.
All that mattered was this moment, and the man standing in front of him.
