So let's go see the stars

Without you, late nights don't mean a thing, yeah
Sunsets don't mean a thing, yeah
Shining stars don't mean a thing too

Leehan's phone buzzed softly on the nightstand, pulling him from the edge of sleep. He groggily reached for it, squinting at the bright screen. The notification wasn't from some random app but a message from Taesan.

Taesan: I'm outside your house. If you're not asleep, come out. Let's take a walk.

Leehan's heart skipped a beat. Peeking through the curtains, he spotted Taesan leaning casually against the lamppost outside. His phone screen illuminated his face, highlighting the familiar playful smirk that sent Leehan's heart racing every time.

Without bothering to reply, Leehan slipped on a jacket, ran a hand through his hair to make himself presentable, and stepped out into the chilly night.

As soon as Taesan saw him, his smirk deepened. "Wow, you really do roll out of bed looking this good."

Leehan groaned, though the corners of his mouth betrayed him by twitching upward. "It's too late for your nonsense, Taesan. Why are you here?"

Taesan shrugged, his hands tucked into his pockets as he approached. "The stars were putting on a show tonight, but I figured they'd look better with you under them." He let his eyes linger on Leehan's face. "Turns out, I was right."

Leehan's cheeks flushed. "You're unbelievable."

"And yet, here you are," Taesan teased, leaning in slightly. "Admit it, you like my charm."

"Charm? More like your persistence."

Taesan chuckled, tilting his head. "Same thing when it comes to you, Leehan. I don't give up on the things I want."

They started walking down the quiet street, the silence between them filled with a buzz of unspoken words. The world around them seemed to melt away, the cold night air painting their surroundings in hues of silver and blue.

"You ever think about how lucky you are?" Taesan asked suddenly, his voice carrying over the stillness.

Leehan blinked, startled. "Lucky?"

Taesan turned to him, his smirk softening into a genuine smile. "Yeah. To have someone as ridiculously good-looking and charming as me chasing after you in the middle of the night."

Leehan rolled his eyes, though he couldn't stop the laugh that bubbled out. "And yet, I'm the one freezing my toes off because you decided to show up unannounced."

"Freezing?" Taesan asked, halting mid-step. He removed his jacket and draped it over Leehan's shoulders before Leehan could protest. "There. Can't have you catching a cold when you're my favorite person to tease."

Leehan blinked up at him, speechless. Taesan tilted his head, his grin returning. "What's that look? Are you falling for me right now?"

Leehan sputtered, pushing the jacket tighter around himself to hide his face. "You're insufferable."

"Maybe." Taesan stepped closer, lowering his voice. "But I think you like me anyway."

They continued walking, and for once, Leehan let the silence stretch between them. He didn't know how to respond to Taesan's boldness. It wasn't like he hated it—in fact, the constant flirty remarks sent butterflies swirling in his stomach every time.

After a while, Taesan stopped, tilting his head back to look at the sky. "You know what's funny?"

Leehan turned to him, curious. "What?"

"All these stars, all these sunsets—they're supposed to be beautiful. But without you, they're just... there. They don't mean anything." Taesan's voice softened, and he glanced at Leehan. "You're the one who makes everything feel alive, Leehan."

Leehan's breath hitched, his cheeks burning. "Taesan..."

"Wait, don't tell me you're getting shy now?" Taesan teased, stepping closer. "After all my relentless flirting, I thought you'd be used to it by now."

Leehan crossed his arms, trying to play it cool despite the rapid thudding of his heart. "Used to it? More like immune."

Taesan chuckled, reaching out to gently take Leehan's hand. His touch was warm, grounding. "Immune, huh? I'll take that as a challenge."

"Don't—" Leehan started, but Taesan cut him off, his voice dropping into a low, teasing tone.

"What if I said you're the only one I want to tease? The only one I want to walk under the stars with? Would that break through your so-called immunity?"

Leehan's lips parted, but no words came out. Taesan leaned in, his forehead resting lightly against Leehan's.

"I'm serious, Leehan," he murmured, his playful tone fading. "You're everything I've ever wanted."

For once, Leehan couldn't find it in himself to argue. Instead, he whispered, "You're so annoyingly smooth, Taesan. But... I think that's what I like about you."

Taesan grinned, his voice light again. "Only think?"

Leehan laughed softly, shaking his head. "Fine. I know."

"Finally!" Taesan exclaimed dramatically. "Took you long enough."

Before Leehan could retort, Taesan cupped his face, his thumb brushing against his cheek. Then, with no hesitation, Taesan kissed him—soft and slow, yet brimming with all the things he'd been trying to say with words.

When they broke apart, Leehan leaned into Taesan's touch, his eyes shining. "You're unbelievable."

"And you're stuck with me," Taesan teased, his grin wide. "So, what do you say? Wanna keep seeing the stars with me?"

Leehan chuckled, warmth blooming in his chest. "Only if you promise to keep being this annoyingly romantic."

"Deal."

Under the endless expanse of stars, they walked hand in hand, their laughter mingling with the quiet of the night.
