Too soon to tell you "I love you"
Too soon to tell you "I love you"
Too soon to tell you "I love you"
You're the risk, I'm gonna take it
Leehan's hands tremble slightly as he shifts on the couch, sitting close to Taesan, but not quite close enough. The moment has shifted, the intensity of the kiss still lingering on his lips, but the interruption has made everything feel more uncertain. He can't stop the thoughts swirling in his mind—what does this mean? What are they doing?
Taesan leans back, his gaze unreadable, the faintest smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. He doesn't speak for a moment, letting the silence between them stretch, thick and heavy. Leehan's mind races with words he's too afraid to say. Too many things left unsaid. Too much danger in this.
"You good?" Taesan asks, his voice low and almost teasing, his thumb absentmindedly tracing patterns on Leehan's wrist.
Leehan swallows, trying to steady his breath, but it comes out shaky. "Yeah... I just..." He glances down at his hands, twisting the fabric of his shirt. "Watch this be the wrong thing, huh?"
Taesan chuckles softly, but there's something darker beneath it. "Classic," he murmurs, leaning in just slightly, making Leehan's heart skip. "But you're still here. We're both still here."
Leehan lets out a breath, his nerves crackling beneath the surface. "God, I'm jumping in the deep end," he says quietly, almost to himself. "It's more fun to swim in, though... Heard the risk is drownin', but I'm gonna take it."
Taesan watches him, the intensity of his gaze making Leehan's stomach flip. "You're really gonna do this, huh? You're gonna take the risk? You sure about that?"
Leehan shifts, his legs brushing against Taesan's, and he feels the electricity between them like a live wire. He wants to push it, wants to know what happens if he lets himself go completely. "I'm gonna bend 'til I break, and you'll be my favorite mistake." He says the words like a challenge, like a promise.
The air around them thickens again. Taesan's lips quirk into a grin. "You're crazy, you know that?"
Leehan can't hold back a small laugh, the sound nervous but real. "I wish you could hold me here, shaking," he says, his voice cracking slightly as he finally looks up at Taesan. "You're the risk, I'm gonna take it."
Taesan doesn't respond right away. Instead, his fingers brush over Leehan's cheek, lingering for just a moment longer than necessary. "You're serious about this, huh? All in, no turning back?"
Leehan meets his eyes, his voice barely above a whisper. "Yeah, I am." His chest tightens, the weight of his own emotions pressing down on him. "Why aren't you here in my bedroom?" he murmurs, feeling the vulnerability rise up inside him. "Hopelessly boring without you."
Taesan's eyes flash, something unreadable in his expression. "Too soon to tell you 'I love you,'" he says, echoing Leehan's own thoughts, but there's a hint of longing in his tone.
Leehan shakes his head, his heart racing. "Too soon to tell you 'I love you,'" he repeats softly, almost to himself. "But God, I'm actually invested." He looks at Taesan, the words spilling out before he can stop them. "Think I really want this. I'm not even kidding."
Taesan leans closer, his voice quieter now, as if this moment requires more than just words. "No, you're not kidding." His fingers brush against Leehan's hair, tugging gently. "But are you ready for it?"
Leehan swallows, the desire for more—more of him, more of this—drowning out his fears. "No, I'm actually invested," he admits, his voice low. "I haven't even met you yet."
Taesan raises an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "So you're all in then?"
Leehan chuckles, but it's a nervous, almost self-deprecating sound. "I wish that I was kidding. I'm not, and I hate it." He lets out a breath, looking away for a moment, the weight of it all hitting him. "God, I'm actually invested."
Taesan's lips curl into a half-smirk, his gaze shifting between Leehan's eyes and lips. "You know, I thought you'd be the one to run."
Leehan glances back at him, almost defiantly. "Haven't even met you yet." He says it like a dare.
Taesan chuckles, his hand resting on Leehan's shoulder, pulling him closer. "Watch this be the wrong thing," he whispers, his lips hovering over Leehan's. "Classic."
Leehan shivers at the warmth of his breath. "God, I'm jumping in the deep end," he mutters again, barely believing the words that are about to come out of his mouth. "It's more fun to swim in." He can't help it, can't stop it. "Heard the risk is drownin', but I'm gonna take it. I'm gonna take it."
Taesan's eyes darken as he leans in, pressing his lips to Leehan's. It's soft at first, a gentle brush, but then, as the words echo in the space between them, it deepens, hardens, becomes something neither of them can control anymore.
And for the first time, Leehan doesn't want to. He doesn't want to fight it. He's already in too deep, and there's no way out now.
