The only thing predictable about life is
Its unpredictability
Anyone can be anything
You can be everything
The world had never been kind to Taesan.
Born into a life where he never quite fit, he had spent years drifting, searching for something-anything-that made him feel like he belonged. Loneliness was an old friend, and the feeling of being an outsider clung to him like a second skin. No matter how hard he tried, no matter how wide he smiled, the emptiness remained. His parents barely noticed his existence, their words sharp like daggers when they did. At school, he was invisible-except when he was a target. The bruises on his ribs and the ache in his chest became constants, reminders that he was unwanted, unloved.
Then, like a falling star streaking across the sky, Leehan entered his life.
Leehan was different from everyone else. He didn't look at Taesan like he was strange or out of place. He didn't try to change him, didn't make him feel like he had to pretend to be someone else just to be loved. From the very first moment, Leehan had looked at him and seen him for who he truly was.
They met on a freezing winter night. Taesan had been sitting on the edge of a bridge, staring at the water below, wondering how long it would take before he would sink. The world had been so quiet then, so peaceful, like it wouldn't even notice if he disappeared.
But Leehan noticed.
"Thinking of flying?" Leehan had asked, his voice calm but his eyes filled with something deep, something Taesan hadn't seen in anyone before-understanding.
"Yeah, going to be an angel," Taesan had scoffed, masking his pain with sarcasm. "Just didn't know I had an audience."
Leehan sat beside him, close enough to make him feel warmth in the freezing cold. "You don't have to do this," he had murmured. "I know what it's like to feel like the world is against you. But you're not alone."
Taesan had turned to him then, his defenses crumbling. "And what if I already am?"
Leehan had smiled then, soft and knowing, his fingers brushing against Taesan's wrist like a silent promise. "Then I'll be here. Every single day, if I have to."
And he was.
From that moment on, Leehan became his anchor. His home. The one person who made life bearable. They were two lost souls, wandering through life together, and for the first time, Taesan wasn't afraid of being alone anymore. Because he had Leehan. And Leehan had him.
Time passed, and for the first time, Taesan began to believe in happiness. In a future. The bruises on his body healed, but more importantly, the wounds inside him did too. He started to dream-not just of surviving, but of truly living. Of seeing the world with Leehan, of finding a place where they could be safe, where they could be free. They would leave this place, run away together. They'd find a tiny apartment, work odd jobs, and build a life-their life. And Taesan would finally be happy.
For the first time, he wanted to live. Really live.
He found a reason, and he knew he couldn't lose it.
Fate has a way of guiding those who struggle, even when the path seems impossible. Just when all hope feels lost, life unfolds in unexpected ways-an opportunity appears, a helping hand reaches out, or a long-awaited moment of clarity arrives. Every hardship, every setback, and every tear becomes a stepping stone leading to something greater. The universe works in mysterious ways, aligning circumstances at the right time to reward perseverance and belief.
In the end, those who keep pushing forward find themselves exactly where they were meant to be. The struggles that once felt unbearable become distant memories, replaced by the joy of dreams realized and burdens lifted. Fate does not ignore the ones who refuse to give up; it simply waits for the perfect moment to turn their story into a happy ending.
