Kiss me in the seat of your Rover
Real sweet, but I wish you were sober
The party was in full swing, lights flickering to the rhythm of the bass reverberating through the room. Taesan leaned against the far wall, his sharp gaze scanning the crowd. The thrum of energy in the air was palpable, yet none of it mattered to him. Not when Leehan was the only person he was focused on.
Across the room, Leehan swayed to the music, a dazed smile on his face. His dark eyes gleamed under the neon lights, his movements loose and uninhibited. Taesan's jaw tightened as he watched him down another sip from the red plastic cup he held.
Leehan was breathtaking—intoxicating in a way that made Taesan's pulse quicken, even as frustration simmered in his chest.
"Leehan," Taesan called out as he approached, his tone low but commanding. He reached for the younger boy's wrist, stopping him mid-laugh. "You're done."
Leehan blinked up at him, his lips parting in a hazy smile. "Tae! You came."
"Yeah, and now we're leaving," Taesan said firmly, taking the cup from Leehan's hand.
Leehan pouted, his cheeks flushed from alcohol and something else Taesan couldn't quite place. "But I was having fun," he protested, stumbling slightly as he tried to lean closer.
Taesan steadied him effortlessly, his hand firm on Leehan's waist. "This isn't fun. You're drunk, and you're going to regret this tomorrow."
"Maybe I won't," Leehan whispered, his voice dipping as he looked up at Taesan. His words were soft, but the way his gaze lingered was anything but innocent.
Taesan's grip on him tightened for a fraction of a second before he exhaled, forcing himself to stay in control. "Come on."
Leehan didn't fight him this time, allowing Taesan to guide him out of the crowded house and into the cool night air. The sharp contrast sent a shiver down Leehan's spine, and Taesan immediately shrugged off his jacket, draping it over the smaller boy's shoulders.
Leehan's breath hitched, and he looked up at Taesan with wide eyes, his usual guarded demeanor replaced by something vulnerable. "You're always taking care of me," he murmured, almost to himself.
"Someone has to," Taesan replied, his voice softer now but no less steady.
They walked in silence to Taesan's car, but the tension between them was palpable, crackling like static electricity. When they reached the car, Leehan leaned against the door, not making any move to get in.
"I don't want to go home yet," he said quietly, his voice barely audible.
Taesan turned to him, his brow furrowing. "Why not?"
Leehan hesitated, his gaze dropping to the ground before he looked back up, his expression raw and unguarded. "Because it feels like you're the only one who really sees me, Tae. Everyone else... it's like they don't care, not really."
Taesan's chest tightened at the vulnerability in Leehan's voice. He stepped closer, his hand coming up to cup Leehan's jaw, tilting his face up so their eyes met. "You're drunk," he said, his voice low and laced with an edge of restraint. "You don't get to say things like that and expect me not to react."
Leehan's lips parted, his breath warm against Taesan's skin. "Then react," he whispered, the challenge in his voice trembling with anticipation.
Taesan's resolve cracked. He closed the distance between them, his lips capturing Leehan's in a kiss that was anything but gentle. It was heated, consuming, and utterly possessive. Leehan gasped into the kiss, his hands clutching at Taesan's shirt as he pressed closer, desperate to bridge every inch of space between them.
"You're reckless," Taesan murmured against his lips, his voice rough. "Do you have any idea what you do to me?"
Leehan's laugh was breathless, his eyes heavy-lidded as he looked up at Taesan. "I think I'm starting to."
Taesan groaned, his hands sliding down to grip Leehan's hips, pulling him flush against him. His lips trailed to the curve of Leehan's neck, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin there. Leehan shivered, his breath hitching as he tilted his head, giving Taesan more access.
"Taesan," Leehan whispered, his voice laced with need, his fingers tangling in the fabric of Taesan's shirt as if it were the only thing grounding him.
Taesan pulled back just enough to meet Leehan's gaze, his dark eyes burning with an intensity that made Leehan's knees feel weak. "This isn't how I wanted this to happen," he admitted, his voice strained. "Not like this."
Leehan leaned up, brushing his lips against Taesan's again in a kiss that was softer this time but no less intense. "Then let me prove it to you tomorrow," he said, his words a quiet promise. "When I'm sober."
Taesan searched his face, his dark eyes scanning for any sign of hesitation. When he found none, he exhaled, pressing his forehead against Leehan's. "You better mean it," he said, his voice tinged with a warning and a plea.
"I will," Leehan whispered, his fingers tangling in Taesan's shirt as if he couldn't bear to let go.
With a final kiss—slow and lingering—Taesan helped Leehan into the car and drove them to his apartment. Leehan dozed off halfway there, his head resting against the window, looking peaceful in a way that made Taesan's heart ache.
When they arrived, Taesan carried Leehan inside and settled him on the couch. He brushed a strand of hair from Leehan's face, his fingers lingering for a moment before he pulled away.
"We'll talk tomorrow," he said softly, though he knew Leehan was too far gone to hear him.
The next morning, Leehan woke with a groan, his head pounding and memories from the night before flooding back in fragments. He buried his face in his hands, mortified. "Tell me I didn't say anything stupid last night," he mumbled.
Taesan leaned against the counter, a steaming mug of coffee in hand, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Define stupid."
Leehan peeked through his fingers, his cheeks heating. "Oh no. What did I say?"
Taesan walked over, setting the mug on the table as he sat down beside Leehan, too close. "You said plenty," he teased, his voice low. "But the part where you practically begged me to kiss you? That was memorable."
Leehan's jaw dropped. "I—what?"
Taesan's smirk widened, and he leaned in, his lips brushing against Leehan's ear. "Say it again," he murmured, his voice a seductive drawl. "Sober this time."
Leehan's heart raced, and he swallowed hard, his eyes locking with Taesan's. For once, he didn't overthink. "I like you," he confessed, his voice steady despite the heat rushing to his face. "I meant it last night, and I mean it now."
Taesan didn't hesitate. He closed the distance, capturing Leehan's lips in a kiss that was just as intense as the one before, if not more. His hands roamed, claiming every curve of Leehan's body as if staking his claim. It was the kind of kiss that left no room for doubt, sealing the promise of everything to come.
When they finally pulled apart, Taesan rested his forehead against Leehan's, a rare softness in his eyes. "Good," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Because I don't plan on letting you go."
Leehan smiled, his hands still clutching Taesan's shirt as if grounding himself. "I wouldn't let you if you tried."
For the first time in a long time, everything felt right.
