Chapter 34

"OK Josh. Gotta go now to the library. See you later?" I kiss him on the cheek and he nods.

"Have fun Cher!" I hear him as I close the door. I go quickly at the library and as I take the first step into it the clock point 2pm sharp.

I spot him in the corner with a phone in his hands and I go his way.

"Hey grumpy." I smile deciding to call him that as I still don't know his name and he just looks so ... Unhappy.

"Oh, hey. You know it's 2:01pm ..right? I said you come any minute later-"

"Will you please cut it? I'm here now, ain't I?" I smile and I catch him checking me out.

I see him giving up and grins telling me to take a seat near him.

"So... What are you at?" He asks and I furrow my brows.

"Sorry?"

I see him smiling and sighing "math?"

"Oh ... Uhm Odd and even functions." I'm so fucked up... I forgot I actually came here to do math with him. I see him smiling as he opens his notebook. He rips out some sheets of paper and hands them to me.

"Bring a notebook starting the next time, OK?" He smiles and I nod biting my lip.

He opens a book of exercises and points one out for me. "Let's start with this one." I nod and even though I'm in no mood to do any math I start writing the solution.

He watches me as I keep going through the exercises for half of hour and I feel his eyes no longer on my notebook but on my face.

I lift my chin up and see those icy blue eyes staring back at me.

"It looks to me that you don't need too much help." He chuckles and I gulp looking on my sheets of paper. I sloved every exercise he gave me.

"No. I do, trust me. I just ...I know these things. What I don't understand are the fucking logarithms .." I sigh smiling and I see him furrowing his eyebrows.

"What? Those are like the most simple things in math... How could you not understand them?" He asks and I look raise my brow to him.

"Well excuse me for not understanding them ..but not everyone is you. Grumpy Irwin." He rising his hands in defence laughing.

"I'm not grumpy." I see him smiling and all that, but I just like to call him like that.

"Yeah, you're somehow just so mad at me. I understood yesterday that you had to boss around because I interrupted your moment. But you are always so bossy-" I feel interrupted by his laughter. Man, that's so cute. I don't know what's going on with this guy I met only a few days ago, but I feel somehow so drawn to him... Though he can get on my nerves sometimes.

"I mean it Irwin." I don't even know what his name is, I just keep calling him Irwin.

He giggles a little after that and we just look at each other for a bit.

"I've just realized something. We didn't even have the proper introduction." He breaks the silence as I look on the sheets of papers.

"Jackson Irwin." He continues and I smile proud of myself that I have finally come to know his first name.

"Cheryl Clifford... Just call me Cher."

"Jax. We should continue with math next time Cher. Now there's somewhere I have to be." I nod as he tells me and we pack our things.

"Wait.the next time will be tomorrow ..or?" I ask turning my head to him.

"Uhm ... I can't tomorrow, but what about Friday?" He looks at me with those glowy eyes that I happen to like so much and I almost forget that on Friday I promised Chelsea, the cheerleader, that I will go to her party.

"There's this party Friday .. Uhm .. I don't know." I feel bad turning this down.

"Oh ... Ok. Than maybe next week?" He asks and I nod.

"Ok. Have fun at the party!" He smiles and I smile back. "Thanks. Bye!" I wave a little and go out of the library.

I go to my locker to put those sheets of part there and to take my history book home so I can write that essey about The war of the roses.

While I put my safety hat on and start the engine I see Jax getting out of school. He smiles to me and I wave. Then I see that girl waiting for him in the passenger seat. Damm so he really has a girlfriend.
