Chapter 21

"I love you." Luke whispers in my ear as I hug him on the porch of my house. These three words are everything to me.

"I love you." I say back and really mean those words.

He let's go of me and goes to his car. I wait there until I can't see his car anymore and then head back in the house.

Apparently my mom likes Luke and this evening turned out to be great. I'm still a little shook from Michael's strange appearance, but I'm glad he gave me those money. I wouldn't know from where to get that kind of money to give it back to Jenny. He didn't have to give me the extra money, but considering the bill from the hospital in the last months is good to have that kind of money.

In the next morning I take a shower and head straight to Jenny's to thank her and to explain myself.

"You are literally the craziest person I know." She states as I finish the story.

"I know ...but I couldn't just let him die there." I say referring to Michael.

"What did Luke say about it ?" She asks and I sigh a little.

"He doesn't exactly know it..." I bite my lip and she shakes her head a little.

"Y/N ... You should discuss with him this kind of stuff, if you want the relationship to work .." She advises me and I lean my head on the back.

"I know.. But he would blame himself and I bet he will just leave me again. Because he has this crazy idea that everyone he loves,dies and I won't let him go because he's a little insane. That's why I don't want to tell him. Last night when he saw the 'gift' from Michael he became a little suspicious and I just hope he won't ask more questions about this." I explain to her and she sighs.

"I can't believe you have come to this. I mean.. Last year you were just this girl who didn't give a shit about love and would've fuck anyone just out of boredom and now you don't know what to do to keep this guy with you for as long as you possible can." Jenny laughs and I join her.

"Yeah .. A lot had happened this year." I smile and she nods.

"Speaking of... You come to my New year's party right?" She asks and wow, I even forget that tommorow is comes the new year.

"Uhm .. I don't really know .. It will be filled with people from school and I really I want to be with Luke." I say feeling a little guilty as a few weeks ago I told her I will totally go, but I didn't know Luke would come home by now.

"He can come too ... He's not your teacher anymore." She suggests.

"I'll talk to him and call you afterwards." I say and she nods.

After we make more plans I take my car and go to Luke. He should be up by now, it's already 1pm.

I go inside and hear the TV in his room.

I open the door and see him laying in the bed with a cup of coffee and some toasted bread on the nightstand.

"Heyy." I say as I go in. "Heyy babe, how'd you get in?" He asks lifting his body from the mattress. "Uhm.. The front door was open." I state and he gestures for me to go in bed.

"Lazy morning?" I state and he chuckles.

"Something like that. I just got the news that I will have to come back to teach from the next semester." He tells me and I sigh.

"What? You don't like me being your teacher?" He asks smirking. "No, it's not that... But we won't be able to walk in public places and I was just coming to tell you that we're invited to Jenny's New Year's Party." I whine and he laughs.
