Chapter 28

As I drag my feet to the park I keep telling myself not to break now. If I let him crush me again I'll just let him enjoy it more.

"Where were you?" Asks Michael concerned and I try to push my thoughts away, I'm not physically able to tell him everything now.

"I had to pee." I say the first lie that crosses my mind. He smiles confused. "What took you so long? And where do you keep your phone anyways?" He asks.

"I dropped it and it broke. And he first hotel was pretty far." I smile at him and he nods.

"We should go, we wouldn't want to miss your graduation party." He chuckles and I fake a laugh. I'm not in the mood to party.. I just want to sit somewhere quietly and think this through.

I sit in the back if his motorcycle and wrap my arms around him. I can't believe Luke was alive all along and he even watched over me... Watched the moves I did, he probably watched me cry as well and did nothing about it. He probably saw me when I went to his house and knew how hurt I was, but still didn't do anything...

I don't know how I should react to this. It's simply too much.

Me and Michael go to where the party was and I see Ashton there with Brooke, his wife. I should tell him his best friend is alive, he's the only one who will believe me.

The ballroom windows are covered and it's dark in here, it's more intimate this way. I see Jenny dancing with some dude already and I take a seat on a table.

Michael starts talking to some people around us and I look at them not really listening, I just stay there with them. 

All I'm thinking about is Luke.

I can't believe how the time had passed. We ate, I talked to some of the classmates, Michael wanted to dance but I wasn't in any mood.

I see Tara laughing with some girls and suddenly I remember that man trying to stop me from chasing Luke, he somehow knew Tara.

"Heyy." I say trying to talk to her. I haven't really talked to her in these four years...

"Hii!,y/n, right?" She smiles and I nod. "Yeah. I was wondering if you could sign my yearbook." I don't even know how to ask her about that man.

"Oh, sure. You have it here?" She asks and now I'm cut off. "Not really. Look, I just had to ask you. Do you know some man working in that building.. PowTow I think." I say and she furrows her brows.

"Oh.. Uhm, I know a lot of man working there.. My mom owns the building." She says and this just got a hell lot complicated.

"Oh ... That's why he said he knows you .." I say more to myself. "Who?" She asks sweetly. She seems pretty cool. " Collins ..." I say as I see a flash of his name on the uniform he was wearing.

"Oh, yeah, I know Jack... He's a good friend of ours" She smiles and I nod. "He said he was your father." I smile and she laughs. "Well ... He kinda is, I mean not my real father .. But spiritual father." She says giving me a warm smile.

Luke knew him also, and I bet this Jack knew Luke too as he tried to stop me.

"But where have you meet him?" She asks and I try to come up with an excuse.

"Uhm ... At PowTow's ?" I say nothing coming to my mind. "Oh ..right." She smiles and I hear someone calling her name.

"I will,uhm it was nice meeting you." "Yeah you should totally go. Nice to talk you, you're cool Tara." I say and she smiles to me turning around.

I'm thinking too much about Luke... I see Ashton and I head straight to him.

"Hey ..we need to talk." I say and he furrows his brows.
