Chapter 38

Years had passed, Yael is now seven years old. I never thought that I would be coming to Crovenia after all these years especially now that my son is the heir of this kingdom. Seven years in the human world has been a long time here in this extraordinary world. 

I did have a great time back there abroad, but I knew that my family needs me here as well. Good thing mom was able to get back to her old job, it wouldn't be a problem. 

Yael is now doing his basic training as an heir, it wasn't hard for him to adjust into this world since we have been telling him about it since he was little. He also know that his father is in this world as well, reason why he's so eager to be here. 

'Well, I am not.'

I am in my old room watching from the window. I can see my son from here. It's like nothing has changed, it's all the same. 

Nandito parin ang mga sulat mula sa kanya, hindi ko alam kung ano ang gagawin ko sa mga ito. 

"Hey, cuz! You're finally here." Calissa. 

I quickly went to her and gave her a hug.

"Kumusta kana? How are you and D?" Bulong ko sa kanya at agad naman niyang isinara ang pinto.

"You are not gonna believe this, he said that he's gonna bring me to their very own Romanov Ball." Aniya na para bang kinikilig pa. "This is the first time that he's ever asking me to go out." 

"I'm very happy for you but isn't that risky?" Tanong ko kaya naman napatahimik siya.

"Well, every kingdom is invited, including us. So, I'm wondering if you could come with me?" Yumakap pa siya sa akin na para bang batang nagpapaawa. 

"You know that I can't." Sagot ko. "I can't let Levan see me." Dagdag ko. Wala sa plano ko na magpakita pa sa kanya. Siguro ay nakalimutan na niya ako sa tagal ng panahon na wala ako dito sa mundong ito.

"That's why D's gonna arrange a date for him and that Ventura girl." Aniya. Hindi ko alam pero parang may tumusok na lamang sa dibdib ko. Siguro ay talagang kinalimutan na niya ako. 

"Fine." Sagot ko na lamang na siyang nagpasaya kay Calissa. Patalong-talon pa siya na tila mo'y nanalo sa kung anong contest. "But you gotta tell your brother to take care of Yael. I can't let him see Levan. Alam mo kung gaano sila magkamukha." Litanya ko, siya naman ay patang-tango lang. 

TOMORROW is gonna be a big day. It's the annual Romanov Ball and every kingdom is invited. We are preparing that's why we are on the hunt for today. I am in the forest of Romanov, a few minute walk is Crovenia's territory. 

I am actually debating with myself if I should go to the ball at all, this stupid Devon has set me up for this girl from Ventura without my knowledge. I just couldn't entertain anyone right now. I don't feel like it. 

"What are you doing in my territory?" A kid's voice has broke the silence. Such a silly kid who thinks this is his territory. "Who are you? Why do you dare to step on Crovenian Territory?" This kid is funny.

"This is not your territory, little boy." I looked around the forest to see where the kid is. "Clearly, you've mistaken Romanov's area for your territory." I chuckled. I cannot even believe that i am arguing with a little boy.

"Umalis ka!" He shouted with his not-so-good tagalog. I turned to look at him and he was there with his fake sword and armour, facing me. 

"Where's your mother? I'll take you to her." Natatawa man pero nakapabibo ng batang ito. Sigurado ako na magiging matapang siyang bata paglaki. 

Nakangiti akong pinagmasdan siya, tila ba pamilyar ang kanyang mukha sa'kin pero hindi ko alam kung saan ko siya nakita. 

"You don't have too! I am stronger that you think." I pinched his nose, he really is cute. 

"What's your name, little fighter?" I asked. 

"Yael." He answered. I don't know but for some reason, I was startled. Didn't know how to react. It must've been a coincidence. "What are you doing here on our land?" He asked.

"Oh, I was on the hunt for deers. We have a Romanov Ball coming up tomorrow." I answered. His face is full of curiousity. 

"You should invite my mom, she is single and beautiful." I chuckled. No one is more beautiful than Calistine. 

"Everyone is invited, you can come too." I smiled. 

"I'll tell my mom to go and say that I found someone that looks like me in the forest." He said before running away from me. 

Did he just said that we look a like? I smiled bitterly. If Calistine have stayed, are we gonna have children by now? Am I gonna see her ever again? I thought after all these years, I'm gonna be over you  but I just couldn't help myself. Vampire's love is eternal for a reason. I don't know if she'll ever be back but I'm gonna keep waiting for the time that I'll get to see her face again and this time, I won't let her go again.
