" Welcome to the first annual Summer Solstice Festival! " The girls clapped and cheered as Van kicked off their event, standing at the head of them. Most of them sat on the ground, their legs crossed underneath them, while Lottie and Travis sat a little ways back from the group, though still showing willing participation. Alex stood near them, leaning against the shelter where they'd been storing meat while it was being prepared to cook; it smelled a little rancid, but Alex ignored it.

Next to Travis, Theo sat with her hands loosely intertwined between her knees, one of her legs bouncing as she tried to focus on Van's storytelling; more-so, she was trying not to think about how mere weeks ago, these same girls that were hooting and hollering over a dumb storytime had let a child drown so they could eat. She was also trying not to think about how she could've potentially prevented his death, or every death that had happened. Theo felt like she was constantly on edge, waiting to see another person die, so maybe her visions pausing was the one good thing that had occurred in the past weeks.

             " Annual? " Akilah had broke from the circle on the ground to lean back, looking up at those sitting behind them with a questionable look, causing Alex to snort, but none of them said anything in response.

              " Before we get started, congratulations to the winners of Capture the Bone, a name I still think we should consider workshopping further! " Van called in a joking tone, cupping her hands over her mouth as the group clapped and cheered yet again; the ginger pointed behind the crowd to Theo, jolting her from her thoughts, " Our MVP of the game, Theodora Prince, with the play of the game, absolutely knocking Taissa on her ass— "

              " O-okay, let's not go that far. " Taissa held up her hands, shaking her head at Van with an amused expression.

              " Yeah, full government name? " Theo agreed halfheartedly, making a face and pinching her nose when Mari started a small chant of the brunette's name, though their cheering eventually turned into an actual one thanks to Misty who took over.

            " Spread that V, dot that I, " Akilah, Gen, and Melissa joined the rest of the cheer while Van danced back and forth to the beat, " roll that C-T-O-R-Y! "

            " Boooooo! " Taissa groaned, lifting her thumb and turning it upside down to quiet their laughter.

           " Per our wager, I hope the rest of you enjoy being our servants for the day. " Van allowed some chortling and chuckles again before she finally said, " Now, let's get started, shall we? "

          Alex drummed on her legs, raising her brows at Van as she gave her a leading drumroll, slowly fading it out when Van began, " Previously, on The Yellowjackets.."

          " On the verge of making history by sweeping nationals without giving up a single goal, thanks mostly to the raddest goalkeeper in the history of the sport— " Van was interrupted by the girls booing her and tossing pinecones at her, which she encouraged and batted them all away as if to prove her pride, catching the final one before continuing, " Our heroes— no, our sheroes— "
