" Hey, is he really that bad? " Travis asked as he approached Natalie, walking away from Misty. Tara was close behind him, just a few steps back, already looking ahead at Natalie with a peculiar expression.

Natalie forced her eyes from Tara to Travis, nodding, " Yeah, it's pretty fucking bad. "

" What if what Akilah saw is just bullshit? " Travis suggested, taking both girls a bit by surprise. When he saw their expressions, he quickly out hesitantly added, " I mean, like, Lottie said stuff all the time that didn't make any sense, but then there would be, like...a bear, birds falling from the sky, or..something, right? "

" Weren't you the one that said she'd have the visions? " Natalie questioned, cocking her head to the side as she wondered where the sudden change of beliefs came from.

" Yeah..and I know what I saw, I-I just.." He began to trail off, causing Tara to reach forward and gently grab his arm. He barely glanced at her creased brows before he dismissively said, " Forget it, it doesn't matter anyways, does it? "

" Travis, " Tara called, but the boy was already turning away from Natalie upon seeing she wasn't biting at what he was pitching. He shook his head and let Tara's hand fall from him before he trekked back over to the hammock.

The taller blonde watched him for a lingering moment with a frown before she looked back to Natalie, " You know Lottie was fucking with his head. "

" But he believed what he saw, didn't he? Or did he make that shit up about Akilah? " Natalie questioned, making Tara scoff under her breath.

" Doesn't matter, does it? " Tara echoed Travis, because he was right. Lottie believed Akilah was having real visions, and Akilah seemed to believe them enough to feed right back into it. It didn't matter if they said Travis was lying now, they just wouldn't believe them. Or worse, they'd want Travis in trouble for it.

Tara began to leave, to follow Travis, when Natalie suddenly reached forward to stop her, grabbing her wrist without a second thought, " Wait, Tara— "

The blonde looked down at Natalie's grasp on her and made a face that made her let go, but Tara still stayed in place to listen to what she had to say. Natalie swallowed, looking as though she wasn't sure if she should say what she was thinking out loud.

" Do you think...keeping him alive is a mistake? " She asked, quietly, like she was afraid someone else would hear her and hang her for it; at that point, they might. " Theo..Theo wants to kill him, put him out of his misery, I just.."

" You just said it, he's in misery. Yeah, I think killing him would be mercy now. " Tara confirmed, saying exactly what Natalie had expected her to. The taller girl looked past Natalie for a second, to the animal pen in the distance as she held a hand to her stomach and shifted her weight with a look of discomfort, " But if he dies, they'll find a reason to..you know. That's the last thing he wants. "
