"Okay, babe. Do you have everything?"
"Yes, I do." Janet stood by the bed as she finished packing her bookbag.
"You have all of you notebooks and ohh..the textbooks, did they come in the mail?"
"They did. I have them in here."
"Good. Do you have enough money to get you some food for lunch, or do you want me to come on my lunch break and...."
"Toni." Toni stopped talking and looked at her. "I have everything. I'm fine."
"I just wanted to make sure you have everything you need."
"You know this isn't my first time going to school right?"
"I know, but...you're taking Gabby and I don't want anything to be messed up." Janet picked Gabby up from her playpen and put her in her carseat. Toni fidgeted with her hands. "Maybe I should drop her off with my mom. I don't want you to have any distractions."
"She's not a distraction and I want her with me." Toni sighed and watched Janet buckle Gabby in.
"Do you need me to drop you guys off or...."Janet stood up and went to Toni. Grabbing her hands, she placed her fingers in between hers.
"I need you to calm down. We knew this was coming and you knew she would be coming with me. Just breathe." Toni let go of Janet's hands and grabbed her waist.
"Don't blame me for being nervous. My two favorite girls are going to be out and about today. We recently found out that Lawrence is out and..."
"Our fathers have us with some protection. There's going to be a couple cars following us to keep an eye out and they're going to be with us the whole time we're on campus. At a distance, of course, but they'll be there. Plus your dad is keeping plenty of tabs on Lawrence and the Fosters. There are plenty of people watching them." Toni sighed. "We'll be fine." Janet rubbed her arms.
"Can you at least call me a few times throughout today? I just want to make sure you two are good. I'll work better that way." Janet smiled.
"I will." She wrapped her arms around Toni's neck and leaned into her. "As long as you promise me to do that very amazing move you did on the island."
"Mmmm." Toni moved her hands to Janet's butt. "I'll do that anyway."
"Good, cause I need that." Toni leaned in to kiss Janet.
"Ahhh!" Toni and Janet looked over at Gabby. She stared back at them.
"She's never gonna have siblings if she keeps acting like that." said Janet.
"I think that's her plan." Toni let go of Janet's waist and went across the bed. She propped herself on her elbows in front of Gabby. "Is that your plan? Are you trying to keep me and Mommy from giving you siblings?" Gabby smiled and kicked her legs. "Well, that's just not gonna work. See, me and your momma are young and we need to have as much s...."
"Toni!" Janet hit her leg.
"Ssss......spouse time. I was gonna say spouse time."
"Sure you were." Janet finished packing her and Gabby's things.
"Now, it's time you get with the program, princess. It won't be for a little while, but eventually we will have another baby and you're going to be an amazing big sister." Gabby closed her eyes. "Girl. No you didn't."
"What did she do?"
"She closed her eyes." Janet laughed.
"That's because she doesn't like what you're saying." Janet put her bookbag on and put the diaper bag on her shoulder before picking up the carseat. "I can't be late."
