Janet laid in bed as she watched tv. She was still waiting to go into labor, but she was still waiting. Granted, the midwife came to check her and luckily, Janet did dilate two centimeters, but she still had some waiting to do. So, since she's been sitting in the room all day, she's been doing even more nesting. She and Toni had put together all of the baby furniture and finished putting away the clothes. Now it was just a waiting game.
"Toni." She came from the closet.
"What's up, baby?"
"Can you see if mother still has some of that cake leftover?"
"Sure. How are you feeling?" Toni sat next to her.
"Just very uncomfortable. I'm ready for this to be over."
"I know. We're almost there." Janet sighed.
"Yeah."
"I'll go see if she has the cake."
"Thank you." Toni kissed Janet's cheeks and left the room. Going down the hall, she went to Katherine and Joseph's room. Right when she was about to knock, she heard something.
"Oh my...yes." Katherine panted.
"Mmmm." Joseph groaned. "Baby."
"Yes. Yes." Katherine moaned louder. Toni backed away from the door and headed back to the room.
"Oh my god." She started laughing as she entered.
"That was fast." Janet paused the show she was watching. "Why are you laughing?"
"Umm..." Toni sat in the bed. "I went to ask your mother about the cake, but she's busy."
"Doing what?" Toni smirked. It took a second for Janet, then it clicked. "Oh my god. Really?"
"Yep, very passionately I might add."
"Wow. We always knew they had sex, but we didn't know it was like that."
"Oh, yeah." Janet folded her arms.
"I don't believe you. My parents are very serious people. They've devoted their life to the church. They don't do that anymore."
"Oh, yeah...go to their door." Janet squinted before slowly getting up.
"Fine." She left the room and slowly made her way to her parents' room. When she reached the door she heard it.
"Oh, Joe. Keep going. I'm almost there." Katherine moaned out loud.
"Mmm, Kathy. I love you."
"I love you too. Oh my god." Katherine let out a muffled scream. Janet covered her mouth and headed back to the room. She began laughing as soon as she walked in the room.
"I can't believe it." Toni laughed with her.
"I know." They laughed even harder.
"Do you think that's where I got it from?"
"Definitely." Janet laughed harder. Toni fell back on the bed and covered her face.
"Oh my god."
"I know it's hilarious to think of, but..."
"Toni, no. Stop."
"What?" Toni went to sit up.
"My water broke." Toni immediately stood up and went to her. Looking down, they saw water running down Janet's legs, forming a puddle on the floor.
"Okay, just breathe and sit down. I'm going to go get Mama Kat. Just hold on." Janet sat on the and tried to stay calm, but everything inside of her was freaking out. Her baby will be here soon. Her baby would probably be here today. She could be a full blown mom before midnight and then that's it. A part of her was kind of happy she hadn't gone into all about because she still had time to fully prep herself, but now, everything was in full speed. The baby was coming and there's no stopping it.
