"Where the hell is she?! She was supposed to be there!" Edward slammed his fist on the desk. "The recording specifically said she would be there!" Lawrence jumped.
"I don't know, man. This isn't on me. I followed my part of the plan. Maybe she just didn't feel like going today." Edward balled up his fist.
"Didn't feel like going." he chuckled. "So at no point did you talk to your brother?" Lawrence shook his head.
"Naw, plus even if I had, he wouldn't believe me anyway." Edward tried to keep his breath even.
"Lawrence, I feel like you're lying to me. Who else would mess this up for me? DeBarge can't do it because we got him held up, I definitely ain't say shit. So it had to be you."
"Listen man, I swear I ain't say nothing." Edward punched Lawrence.
"Nigga, I will kill your ass." Lawrence stood up.
"Look..." He smirked. "I know you ain't just punch me over some shit that I didn't even do." Edward looked him in the eyes.
"You think you scaring somebody. Your punk ass couldn't even keep your prayer warrior of a brother off of you. He must be just as much of a pussy as you are." Lawrence felt his body heat up. "Does that make you mad?" Edward chuckled. "Sit your ass down." He pushed Lawrence back into his seat and went behind his desk. "Someone has betrayed me. This plan was perfect. Who let it slip?!" He screamed.
"So you're really choosing to believe her?" Joseph asked. Janet nodded. "Why?"
"This girl hurt you so much." said Katherine. "She bullied you in school, tried to jump you, kidnapped your daughter and you choose to trust her now?"
"Mother, I know it sounds crazy. Trust me, I don't even know why, but I trust her. She told me that she wasn't behind the kidnapping and didn't even know that it was my child."
"Really?"
"Yes, she said it was all Jenna and her plan to try and get with Toni. Her and Daniel wanted to give her back immediately but Jenna said she would kill them. So she made sure nothing happened to Gabby."
"And you believe her word?" asked Evelyn.
"No, I believe Gabby." They looked at her. "Y'all know how she is around people she doesn't like. She throws a fit, but when Jenny got down to look at her, she smiled at her. She wouldn't smile at someone she didn't feel safe with." They all got quiet. It was true. Gabby was a very expressive baby, if she didn't like you, you would know it.
"Let's just say her story is true. Why now? Why would she want this long to go against her father?" asked Katherine.
"I don't know. She didn't tell that part. All she said was, she couldn't deal with it."
"I just don't believe it." Michael Sr. stood up. "I just don't see her being honest. I mean, how do we know that she really went to the police station? I mean, this could all be a ploy for him to get all of us. They could be on their way here right now." Evelyn stood up next to Michael.
"Calm down, honey. There's plenty of security here. They couldn't get in here without us knowing." Michael looked at her. "Breathe." He took a deep breath. "Good. Now sit down." They sat back in their seats.
"Okay." Toni came into the conference room, out of breath. "I just confirmed with Kenny. He checked with his contacts at the police station and Jenny did turn on her father. She's giving them everything and when I say everything, I mean everything."
"Wow." Toni sat next to Janet.
"Did he look on the drive yet?" Janet shook her head. Toni looked at Joseph. "Bishop, you should really look at that drive."
