Toni stood up from the chair and closed her suit jacket. "Thank you for your time. I'm sure we'll do great work together." She held her hand out and each of the investors shook it.
"Of course, Ms. Braxton. We look forward to it."
"Have a good day, Ms. Braxton." Toni nodded as the new investors left the conference room.
"And that's how you do that." Toni turned and looked at Joseph. They high fived and laughed.
"Man, for a minute there, I didn't think that we could pull it off." said Joseph.
"But we did."
"Whooo...I think that deserves a reward. How about we get the senior staff together for lunch?"
"Perfect." They headed out of the room. "Oh, wait. Janet's supposed to be coming up here after her and Gabby's doctor's appointments."
"Well, bring her and the baby. I'm sure Katherine will be with her and she can come as well."
"Awesome, I'll come by your office when she's ready."
"Cool." Toni and Joseph headed to their offices. Toni approached Tim's desk with a smile.
"I take that smile as good news." Tim stood up.
"They went for it." They dapped up.
"That's what I'm talking about, big boss." They laughed. "So this means more money coming into the company."
"Yep, and I suspect some people on this floor are getting a pay raise." Tim's eyes got wide.
"You foreal?"
"You help a lot with this deal. I'm going to make sure Bishop knows that. You need a good living to take care of my sister in law and niece." Tim smiled.
"For sure. For sure."
"How about you join us for the lunch today? We're going when Janet gets here."
"Thanks. I'm down."
"Good. Finish up the notes and then whe..."
"Hello, Ms. Braxton." Toni rolled her eyes and turned around.
"Hello, Jenna." She held her hand out but Toni ignored it. "How can I help you?"
"I have some documents from Ms. Ross's department. She was going to have one of the other assistants bring it later on, but they seemed important." She held the documents out and Tim reached out and grabbed them.
"Thanks." He stared at her. There was silence.
"So, Toni...I mean, Ms. Braxton, how did the big meeting go?"
"It went." Jenna looked at both Tim and Toni.
"How?"
"That information is reserved for the senior staff and those selected by them."
"But I am Ms. Ross's assistant and last time I checked, she was a part of the senior staff."
"She is." Jenna felt the awkwardness. After a minute, she started laughing.
"Toni, stop playing. Did the meeting go well?"
"It went fine."
"Good. I'm happy for you."
"Thank you."
"I miss it over here. The break room is better." She chuckled. Tim fake chuckled. "So, Toni....Ms. Braxton, how have you been adjusting back to work? I know you were away for a while with personal stuff. I hope everything is okay."
