"Hi, baby. It's your mama. I'm gonna be your favorite." Janet pushed Toni's head.
"Get away from my stomach and stop saying that."
"Hey, it worked the first time." Toni looked at Gabby, who was laying on her shoulder. Today, they were at Janet's appointment about the baby. So much had been going on that they had missed the last one and she was now almost three months along.
Since everything had happened with the Fosters, her father had been working nonstop with the police about Jenny's witness protection placement since they approved her going with them. At the moment, she was tucked away at a hotel, but she'd be moved to their house in a few days. At first she was shocked, but after she and Janet had an in depth conversation, they came to a true consensus. They actually had been talking practically everyday. Jenny would confide in Janet when she was feeling down and had even shared some details about her life that were completely unknown by others. For Janet, she was open about her struggles with depression and anxiety. It had brought them closer.
However, everything wasn't all peachy. The family had found out that Jenna stabbed her father and was on the run. Security for Toni had been increased, seeing as how the last threat Jenna made was to get Toni for herself. So everyone was still on guard. The rest of the family however, was in prison. Especially Edward's wife who had been charged with rape, human trafficking and possessing and distributing child pornography. Edward was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, assault and human trafficking. However, when he was willing to give up those higher than him, he got a lesser sentence than his wife.
"Doesn't the princess just love her Mama?" Toni bounced Gabby a little.
"Yeah!" Gabby spoke. She was speaking more and more now as she approached her first birthday. It was two months away and Janet was extremely excited for it. They weren't having a party, but they were going to do a celebration with the family. Latoya had already had Tammy's first birthday celebration and Gabby lost her mind over the cake, so they were definitely going to do that for her.
"That's right, you love Mama."
"Mama!" Gabby put her face on Toni's cheek and opened her mouth.
"Ewww..you getting slob on me, but thank you." Janet shook her head as they laughed back and forth with each other.
"You two are so cute." Toni smiled.
"Thank you." Janet sighed and sat up on the bed. "You okay?"
"Just nervous."
"Everything's going to be fine."
"I'm sure it is, but....it's just nerves." Janet let out a breath. "Plus, I'm nervous to see what we're having."
"I'm sure it's a girl."
"I thought you wanted a son?"
"I did, but I don't care anymore. Just want healthy babies and I'm kind of liking this girl mama thing."
"You won't when they're screaming about how they hate us in fifteen years."
"I'll like it then too." Toni put her hand on Janet's stomach and gently rubbed it.
"Mama!" Gabby lifted her head.
"What?" Gabby grunted and reached out. "What is it?"
"Ughhhhh..." she strained and then began to whine.
"What's her problem?"
"I don't know." Janet answered. Gabby bent her body over and looked at Toni's hand while reaching.
"Oh...she wants to touch my stomach too." They chuckled. Toni lowered Gabby's little hand onto Janet's stomach. She patted and rubbed it before laughing.
