"Mother, they should be here by now." Janet's hands shook. She stood in the foyer of the house, waiting for Toni and her father to walk through the door. Security had brought them home at the instruction of Joseph. All of the information and everything they were working in was brought with them.
"Janet, they're coming." She held Gabby's snack in her hand as she ate. "Just calm down." Janet shook her legs.
"What if something happened?" She felt her heart start racing. "It's been three hours." Katherine shook her head and went back to helping Gabby with her snack. It was a flat baby biscuit and she had crumbs all over her face.
"Is it good?" Gabby pulled Katherine's hand closer to her mouth and ate more of the biscuit.
"Mmmm." Katherine chuckled.
"Janet, get away from the door. They'll be back."
"Mother! Please." Janet was getting agitated with her mother telling her to calm down. She was worried about her wife and needed her to come home. This situation was something she never wanted to be in. Nervous and worried that Toni would never come home. She needed her. They needed each other. Janet felt her anxiety grow more and more. Where was Toni and her father?
Just as she was about to lose it, the front door opened and her father walked in with Toni. "Oh my god!" Janet jumped on Toni immediately and hugged her. Toni caught her and held her. "I'm so happy you're okay. I thought the worst." She wrapped her legs around Toni's waist as she held her face in her neck.
"I'm fine, baby." She lifted her head and pecked Toni's lips a few times.
"Don't scare me again. It's not good for me."
"I won't. I promise." She hugged her tighter. Janet fully wrapped her arms around Toni and held her tight. Joseph went to Katherine and sat next to her. Gabby immediately threw herself to him. He held her and she laid on his shoulder.
"Aww, my grandbaby missed me."
"Of course she did." Katherine pecked his lips. "Did everything go smoothly?"
"Yep, Edward is arrested and they got the whole crew, even Lawrence."
"Good. What about Jenny?"
"She's going into witness protection. The only charge they had her on was disturbing the peace so she's going to be able to walk free after the trial."
"Good."
"She will need therapy though. A lot more happened in that family than we thought." Katherine faced him.
"Like what?"
"His wife...she's like.....really....odd." Katherine made a face.
"Odd?"
"Yeah, they observed some of the security footage Edward had and she's very......interesting with her daughters." Katherine was confused as she looked at Joseph. He stared back at her.
"I don't.....what do you..." Joseph looked at her and leaned in. "Oh....ohhhh....interesting."
"Yes, very. I get the sense that Edward was in a way trying to protect those girls by doing everything he was doing. He always had security following them and his wife. I think he knew she was twisted like that."
"Hmm...that's a shame. It makes me look at Jenna's behavior differently."
"Yeah, but I feel even worse for Jenny."
"Why?" Joseph shook his head.
"Edward's wife was so much harder on her."
"Why?"
