"Alright, how's that?" Toni stood on a ladder, holding a picture. "Is it straight?" Janet looked up from the box she was unpacking.
"Yeah. That's good." Toni secured the picture and went onto the next one. A couple of days after they celebrated Janet's birthday, they made the move to the new house. They decided they wanted to celebrate Gabby's first birthday in their new home as a family. No party or big deal. They didn't really like people anyway and Toni definitely wasn't going to have a bunch of people she barely talked to have a front row seat to a celebration for their baby. She also didn't want Janet to feel uncomfortable. They had gone back up home for the church service where Joseph had announced that he was passing on some of the duties to other ministers and when they were in the fellowship, Joseph had decided to hold a baby shower for Janet and Toni. While there she overheard some of the members commenting on the fact that Janet was pregnant again so soon after having Gabby. It wasn't anyone that they really knew or cared about, but it still hurt Janet's feelings.
"Baby, where do you want your desk put?" Toni carried a box into the area. They were setting up Janet's office so that she would be able to do her school work in a calming environment. Janet didn't want an office and only wanted Toni to have one, but Toni insisted that she should have her own space as well.
"Put it near the window. I want to be able to look out the window from the side."
"Yes, ma'am." Toni took the box to where Janet wanted in and began to put the desk together. Janet sat on the couch she had and unpacked her books. She organized them to put on her shelf when she got up.
"Did you finish painting baby girl's nursery?"
"I did. The colors you picked out look so nice."
"Good. When will you be finished in there? I want to put her room together."
"A few more days. Daniel has to put up the light fixtures, sockets and lay the carpet. We also have to air the fumes out of the room before you go in there."
"Is all the furniture here?"
"Yep. It's all ready for you." Toni got up and kissed Janet's cheek. "But I don't want you to put the furniture together without me. I don't want you getting hurt." Janet looked at Toni as she continued to kiss her.
"I won't." She chuckled. She hugged her from behind.
"Promise. I know how stubborn you can be about doing stuff."
"Shut up." Janet pushed Toni off. "Finish the desk." Toni laughed and went back to what she was doing.
"Oh, and your truck will be here tomorrow."
"Yes." Janet clapped. "I'm too big for my car now. I think this one is going to be bigger than Gabby."
"Not too much on my new princess. That just means she's eating good in there." Janet laughed and rubbed her belly. She was wearing a sports bra and joggers which helped her stay cool. Since Janet was about to enter her third trimester soon, she was starting to get the annoying parts of being pregnant. She was always hot and her back was hurting more. It was making her irritable. Not to mention, Gabby was wanting to be picked up even more now. Even though she could walk perfectly fine, she always wanted Janet to carry her. The problem was that it was getting to the point that it was unsafe for Janet to carry her along with her belly. So it was definitely a testing moment when it came to their parenting skills.
As they continued to work, Toni and Janet overheard Gabby running up and down the hallways. Luckily they had baby proofed the house so that she wouldn't get hurt because Gabby was definitely coming into her personality more and she loved running. She also started learning her voice even more and one thing in particular, she loved to do. "AHHHHH!" She screamed. "AHHHHH!" She ran through the hallway and stumbled every so often. "AHHHHH!" Janet rubbed her head and laughed.
