"Okay, baby. One more bite." Toni held the spoon to Janet's mouth.
"Toni, I'm full." Janet pushed the spoon away.
"Alright." Toni moved the tray to the nightstand. Janet sat back against the headboard. "How are you feeling today?" Janet sighed.
"I'm okay. You can go to work if you need to."
"Are you sure?" Janet looked at her.
"Yeah. I'm doing a lot better. I'm eating and getting out of bed. You can go. You have a big presentation coming up and you need all that preparation time." Janet smiled.
"I've done enough preparation. You need me." Janet rubbed Toni's face.
"Baby, I'm fine. Go to work. I have a doctor's appointment anyway." Toni sighed.
"I don't know." Janet moved into Toni's lap.
"How about I come visit you after my appointment. I'll bring Gabby and you can see with your own eyes that we're both fine." Toni held Janet's waist.
"Okay. Okay, but directly from the doctor's. No stops." Janet sighed and smiled.
"No stops." Janet wrapped her arms around Toni's neck. "I love you."
"I love you too."
"Whoa. The prodigal daughter has returned." Laura laughed and hugged Toni.
"Hey, Laura."
"How's my baby Janet doing?" They headed into Toni's office.
"She's good. She's eating and everything. She's even been sleeping well, almost up to five hours a night."
"That's good. I was really worried." Toni sat at her desk and began setting her things up. "How's baby Gabby?" Toni smiled big.
"She's so good. She smiles everyday and she's always laughing. She does this thing where she'll stick her tongue out." Toni opened her phone and went to her gallery. She pulled up a video and showed Laura. It showed Janet playing with Gabby and she was sticking her tongue out. After a few times, Gabby stuck her tongue back at Janet.
"That's so cute." Laura laughed. "You have a beautiful little girl, Toni."
"Thank you." Toni looked at her phone a little longer before closing it and putting it down. "So, what are the updates with the investors?" Laura tapped on her tablet.
"Tim." Tim rushed into the office.
"I'm here. What you need Toni?"
"Updates from the investors."
"Reynolds is not budging. He feels like he can find a better deal." Toni rolled her eyes. "Smith is on board. Trucker is still on the rocks about it." Toni sighed.
"Okay, tell Reynolds that our growth for the past quarter has been over two hundred percent. When we get in the meeting, send a bottle of wine and goodies to Smith's office as a thank you and also offer him a week at the spa in the hills. With Tucker, he started as a blue collar man, so we'll need to play up how his investment will benefit the lower level employees." Tim and Laura typed on their pads.
"Got it."
"Laura, please be sure the Bishop is up to date on all of my notes, so he can prepare to back me up in the meeting. I know how he likes to be a closer."
"Awesome, I will make sure he knows. How does...noon sound for a chance for you guys to rehearse the approach?"
"Perfect. Tim, make sure my schedule is free then."
