"Janet, please stop."
"Toni, leave me alone." Tears fell from Janet's eyes as she sat in the living room.
"All she said was it may be a little longer than three weeks." Janet and Toni hadn't been that long gotten back from her doctor's appointment. Luckily the baby had turned the right way, but they had gotten the news that Janet might not have the baby until a week after her due date.
"I don't want to be pregnant anymore."
"I know, but we can't rush the baby." Janet cried harder. "Baby, stop crying." Toni tried to hug her and she pushed her off.
"Get off of me."
"I'm home!" Katherine rushed in. "Hey, Toni. Sorry I couldn't make it. The mothers at the church got..." she saw Janet crying. "What's wrong?" She sat next to her and hugged her. Katherine got a tissue and wiped her face. "Calm down. Tell me what's wrong."
"The doctor said that I might not have the baby for three more weeks and I don't want to be pregnant anymore."
"Awww." Katherine rubbed her back.
"I can't see my feet and my back hurts and I have to pee all the time and I'm hungry." Janet started crying again. "Oh my god. I'm so hungry. I need to eat and I don't know..."
"I know, sweetie. I know."
"What is happening?" Toni sat next to Janet and rubbed her arm. "Don't touch me." Toni backed away in confusion.
"What did I do?"
"You got me pregnant! I hate you!" Janet got up and went to the bathroom. Toni sat quietly.
"Toni, she doesn't mean it. She's just very hormonal."
"I know. It's just been happening so much more lately."
"It's nearing the end of her pregnancy. She's uncomfortable all the time. I remember it vividly. It had gotten so bad that Joseph slept in a different room."
"I just don't want her to hate me."
"She doesn't hate you."
"Toni!" Toni jumped up and went to the bathroom.
"What's up, baby?"
"I need help getting up." Toni helped her up. She flushed and washed her hands.
"How you feel?" Toni wiped her face.
"I'm okay now. I'm sorry I said I hate you. I don't hate you."
"I know."
"I'm just tired and very uncomfortable." They left the bathroom and went back to the living room. "I just wish I can take it off for a second."
"I get that." said Katherine. She got an idea and stood up. "Come here." She helped Janet up. "Turn around and trust me okay."
"Okay." Janet turned and Katherine got behind her.
"Put your arms over mine." Katherine placed her hands under Janet's belly. "You ready."
"MmmHmmm."
"Alright." Katherine gently lifted and Janet felt instant relief causing her head to fall back on Katherine's shoulder.
"Oh...oooohhhhh." Janet sighed in relief and tears fell down her face. "Oh my god." They swayed back and forth for a few minutes. Janet just laid back against her mother with her eyes closed.
"Just breathe, sweetie." Katherine calmly spoke to her.
"You're going to be okay. Just take this time and breathe." Janet took slow calm breaths and felt her anxieties fall.
