Chapter 33:
We were drawn from our sad moment as the plane jolted from side to side rough.
"Mokuba, Ri, wait here for me!" Seto said disappearing up the stairs to the cockpit. I rolled my eyes and followed him, Mokie shortly behind me.
"I'll save them. I won't let my brother or Rika get hurt no matter what!" Seto was holding the steering wheel pulling back.
"THIS PLANE WILL NOT CRASH!" He said through gritted teeth.
I saw his duel disk start to glow as he continued to grunt and growl as the plane continued to head towards the ground, but at what seemed like a slower pace.
"Hold on, we're gonna hit the ground soon. I can't stop it!" Seto let go of the wheel and stood up to brace us both against the back wall. He looked down at me with worry in his eyes. I wrapped my arms around him and leaned up to kiss him. If we were going to die, I couldn't think of a better way to go. The impact came about thirty seconds later but it wasn't shattering or catastrophic; it was maybe slightly rougher than a normal landing. It was nothing that injured us more than a few hard jolts. I looked up at Seto as he pulled away to survey the damage.
"How?" He asked completely amazed we were still alive.
"I don't even care Seto, we made it. You did it!" I said smiling up at him before resting my head against him.
"You did it, Seto!" Mokie said from behind me. I had temporarily forgotten about the younger Kaiba who was now hugging both of us from the side. I could not be more content than right now, my two boys holding me tight; despite the almost life-ending situation, of course.
"Alright, let's see where we landed and try to get a hold of Roland. He can't be too far." Seto said as he released both of us from his hold. I glanced out one of the windows to see a lake and a wooded area. It was beautiful as sunlight glittered along the water's surface. I guess if you're going to be plane-wrecked and possibly stranded, might as well have a nice place to stay while we wait for help.
He grabbed his briefcase, which held his laptop, cell phone, and any other important Seto Kaiba things. His duel disk was still strapped to his arm. He motioned for us to gather our belongings as well. I grabbed the small bag of things he assembled for me during my sleep, most likely things I left at his mansion. I saw my duel disk lying on a table as well as my deck holder. I peeked to make sure my newest card was there as well as my important ones. Not that I don't trust Seto, it's what happened right before I passed out that I don't remember. I put my valued possessions in place before following the Kaiba brothers to the exit.
Seto opened the side door with Alister in his arms. I guess he won't leave him on the plane. Mokuba was tugging along the briefcase and his backpack. I assume it had his stuff in it as well. Seto stopped momentarily glancing down at the ground.
"Oh great." I heard him say. I peeked over his shoulder to see my brother and his group of friends.
"Dear Ra, we just survived a plane crash and they punished us with Joey Wheeler. How kind." I said rolling my eyes. He looked over his shoulder and I saw a twinkle in his eyes knowing he enjoyed my comment. Seto then jumped down, soon followed by myself. Then I had Mokuba toss the backpack to me and jump with his brother's briefcase. I couldn't risk that getting damaged. We'd both be in deep shit if something happened to that.
"If it isn't the dweeb patrol." Seto said not happy to see them at all.
"Rika!" I saw them all look at me.
"What are you still doing with Rich boy here?" Joey asked.
"Ever think that I enjoy being with him more than you dorks? Just because Yugi is my brother does not mean I have to like his friends." I said migrating slightly closer to Seto.
