*Jamie's POV*
It probably wasn't the best idea to stay over at Mariah's house. I was still pissed at her, and she was clearly not too happy to see me still here. Her and Jeydon seemed to be the same as they always had been. Damon and Cyr being here was a surprise. Her parents were like the coolest. They always let her friends, and strangers in bands, stay over and eat all her food. My parents barely ever let just Jeydon and Mariah stay over.
I ate my pancakes, never really looking up from my plate. I felt really awkward even being here. If Mariah wasn't always so soft-spoken, she probably would have kicked me out of her house. She should have kicked me out.
"So," Kellin said. I looked up and across the table at him. He wasn't sitting next to Mariah, which was weird in my opinion. Shouldn't they be sitting next to each other? "What are we going to do before we leave?"
That was a good question. The last day he would see us for months, but I doubt he cared about seeing anybody except Mariah. Pushing my jealous thoughts aside, I really got to thinking about his question. We had told him before that there was nothing we could really do around here.
"Niagara Falls," Mariah said. How had we not thought of that before? We lived, literally, 20 minutes from there. "At night, it lights up really pretty colors."
"So does the Peace Bridge," I added. "Maybe we could take out the boat and take a ride on the river..?"
To my surprise, Mariah smiled at me. "If only Mississippi Muds or Old Man Rivers were open that late."
We had gone there a few weeks ago- Jeydon, Mariah, and I. It was one of Damon's favorite places when he came up here, so we had texted him and bragged about all the fun we were having at his favorite restaurants. He had gotten angry with us, and clearly hadn't forgotten about it.
"You guys are going to take me there!" he yelled across the table, slamming his fist down. "I need to go!"
"We want to go too!" Jesse whined.
"We have all day," Cyr pointed out. They all put on their puppy dog faces, turning towards Mariah, and Kellin's was so damn cute. His normally big green eyes could have sold it all themselves.
She rolled her eyes and gave in. "Fine. Just a few questions." She smiled and looked around at us. "Are we walking to the river? And do you think I can still drive the boat with a broken leg?"
After we showered, off we went. She started hobbling down the sidewalk until Damon yelled at her and offered to give her a piggy back ride. "You shouldn't be walking on a broken ankle!" he scolded.
She just shook her head. "I'm fine. And anyways, you probably couldn't lift me. I would break you."
He stopped walking and grabbed her arm, causing everybody else to stop too. "Are you really saying what I think you're saying?" Mariah looked down at her feet. "MARIAH! You are not fat! I swear you get skinnier every time I see you! Now get on my back and let me give you a piggy back ride!"
Mariah looked like she wanted to protest, but gave in. It couldn't have been easy or painless walking on a fractured ankle. She should really just use her crutches and stop being so stubborn. Was she really losing weight, though? I hadn't really been paying attention to that, but Damon may have been right. She definitely wasn't fat.
"What are you thinking about?" Kellin asked, bumping my shoulder with his elbow.
I looked up at him. He had to keep looking a certain way so that his hair wouldn't get messed up. He had on his signature pair of balck Raybans that he had been wearing when we had first met him. Jeez, it was no fair. Why did she get him? "Um, just stuff." I probably shouldn't tell him what I had been thinking about, considering it had been him.
