*Jeydon's POV*

"Bye!" I called out as the screen went blank and Jamie shut the laptop.

"Okay, well, it's almost one in the morning. I should go home," Mariah said. She grabbed her bag and slid on her boots. Jamie hugged her and called goodbye after us as I walked her to the door.

She went to give me a hug but I offered to walk her home. It was pretty cold out and I didn't have my jacket, but she only lived a few blocks away.

I could hear her teeth chattering, even through my hood and her hands that covered her mouth. "You cold?" I asked.

She nodded, uncovering her hands and stretching them. Her nails were bitten down to nubs, but the only thing I was concerned about was how bright red her hands looked. I knew they hurt and she didn't have gloves or a big hoodie pocket to keep them warm. Only the sleeves of her sweatshirt and her breath.

I held my arms open to her and she moved into my side. I rubbed her arms and told her, "My pocket is all yours if you want it." She stuffed her hands into the front pocket of my sweatshirt and rubbed them together.

"I feel bad," she said quietly, teeth still chattering.

"Why?" I asked. She hadn't done anything that she should feel bad about. At least to me or that I know about.

"You bought us V.I.P. Warped Tour tickets! Those things are expensive!" She took her hands out of my pocket as we walked up her front steps. "I don't feel like I said thank you enough."

"You said it too many times to count," I assured her.

"Nuh uh."

"Yuh huh!"

"Fine." She smiled, but it was fake. Almost sickeningly fake. It was weird for her. Whenever I saw her, she was always the happiest person, always laughing and smiling. The only times I had ever seen her cry were when her grandfather died, and last year when her douche bag boyfriend had broken her heart. I saw her eyes start to water, but I couldn't tell if it was from the wind and cold, or she was actually really upset about something.

I tapped her arm and she looked back up at me. "You alright?"

She blinked a few times and was back to normal. She didn't seem like she was about to cry anymore, and when she smiled at me, it was much more convincing. "Yeah. I'm fine." She hugged me real quick and ran inside. "Thanks again, Jeydon! Love you!"

"Love you too!" I said. I turned around and walked back to Jamie's.

*Mariah's POV*

As soon as I got inside, I hit play on my stereo. I had all my Sleeping With Sirens CDs in the 6 disc player. I turned it up, thankful for the fact that my parents were on a week long cruise. I should probably call them, I thought, but decided against it. If they wanted to talk to me, they could call.

My phone vibrated in my hands.
