*Jamie's POV*

'MIss strong and outspoken, easily broken, now I kick myself. I should've known better, get it together!'

The lyrics kept playing over and over in my head. It's such a good song. I started humming it as I scanned the shelves of shoes in Walmart. Jeydon walked up next to me, humming along with me. I smiled up at him, but at the same time, I wanted to cry. It was just one of those times that everything was going wrong. On top of everything with Adam, my best friend now hated me. I was drunk! I didn't mean to do that! I never would have done that had I been in the right mind set.

At least I still had Jeydon with me. Despite my kissing him last night, he still decided that he would go shopping with me. He was a good best friend. He was the exact opposite of me.

I didn't realize I had stopped humming and just began watching him until he spoke. "Can I ask you a question?" he asked. I nodded. "Have you noticed that Mariah may be... not, um, eating right?"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "What do you mean?" I asked him. I didn't get what he meant. Did he mean that she hadn't been eating enough vegetables? Not enough protein? Too much sugar?

He hesitated, as if trying to find the right way to say it. "Like, maybe she hasn't been eating as much as she should be?" He stopped pretending to look at shoes and rested his arms on a shelf.

"You think she has an eating disorder or something?" I asked, finally getting what he was telling me. I hadn't been paying attention to what she was eating. Should I have been?

Jeydon flinched when I suggested an eating disorder. It didn't seem like that was something he wanted to think possible- and niether did I- but it could be something serious like that. "Or something," he said.

"Jeydon, why are you saying this?" Had he been paying attention to her eating habits for a while now?

"I've just been observing, and she hasn't been herself. I mean, she's been herself, but she hasn't been eating like she used to. Or really eating much at all," he explained.

"You're describing an eating disorder to me, Jey. You can't act like this is nothing."

"I'm not acting like it's nothing. I just-" He stopped himself, like he was about to admit something that I shouldn't know. What could that be though? I knew pretty much everything about this kid.

"You just what?"

"I just... I don't want to admit that it may be something serious."

"And it may not be," I told him, hoping to lift his spirits just a little bit. "But, we can't cancel anything out, okay?"

He nodded. "And what do we do if it is?" he asked me quietly.

I shrugged. I honestly had no idea what to do about this. I didn't even know if anything serious was happening to her. What I did know was that everything was more screwed up than it had a right to be.

*Mariah's POV*

Jeydon and Jamie came back just in time for us to check out. As usual, I got some sarcastic remark about how the room should not be this clean. I set my jaw and grabbed my bag, letting out a sigh and walking out to the hallway. I saw Jamie giving me weird look. Not a dirty look, but like she was checking to see if I was okay.

I shrugged it off and pushed the rest along. I swear, if they didn't have me with them half the time, they would never get anywhere. Especially when Damon was around. Procrastination was a fine art that we had all pretty much mastered. We were all also pretty good at managing to get distracted by anything no matter what we are doing.

After we checked out, we found some sketchy park that had rusting swings but approachable benches. I saw some kids climbing on the jungle-gym, which made me wonder what kind of parent would let their eight-year-old go to this place. I mean, I was almost twenty, and my mother would probably not be okay with my being here.

Jamie pulled out her laptop, starting to edit some videos she took of the show last night before she, you know, got wasted and kissed my boyfriend.

But that's all in the past, I reminded myself. "Make a video with us, Kellin?" she asked, turning on her camera.

He shrugged. "Why not?" He scooted closer, pushing me awkwardly against Jeydon.

With a quick hair check- for all of us- we started. "Hey, guys," I started. "I know we haven't really made a video in a while, but we decided we should try getting those things called 'lives.'"

"Those were confusing, though, so we went back to the internet and bands," Jamie said, smiling.

"Speaking of bands, we just so happened to see a few of them last night," Jeydon added, wiggling awkwardly and uncomfortably next to me. I couldn't say I blamed him. The bench hadn't been very big to begin with, and then somebody (*cough cough* Kellin) just had to make it seem like four people were trying- and failing- to fit on that awkward one person park bench.

"They sucked," Jamie and I said at the same time, both looking over at Kellin and smiling.

"Excuse me?" He asked, a hint of amusement in his voice. "I thought they were pretty good." He shrugged and looked away from us, slipping on a pair of sunglasses.

We went on for about another 20 minutes, knowing that we would edit most of this out. Half of the things we had said hadn't even made sense. We then had to find a restaurant or bookstore that had free wifi. We ended up in a tiny cafe with wifi and a cute little display of donuts, cookies, and pies. Jeydon and I went up and got coffee, while Kellin and Jamie spread our stuff out and took up nearly four tables starting to edit this video. People who don't know us must really hate us.

We set the coffee down on the table, next to the laptop but not close enough that Jamie would have a heart attack. "What were you even doing here?" I heard Kellin laugh as I went to sit down at the table where our jackets were set.

Jamie started laughing too. "I honestly couldn't tell you."

This was going to be one interesting video. Next to me, in somebody's jacket pocket, I heard a phone ringing. It wasn't Jamie's, because her ring tone was a Sleeping With Sirens song. It wasn't Jeydon's either, because his ring tone was a Silverstein song. My phone was in my back pocket, so I'm pretty sure that wasn't it either. Well, I really would have thought that Kellin was creative enough to have his ring tone be something other than the default, but whatever.

"Can you get that?" He asked me. What did I look like, his secretary or some shiz? "It's probably just Matty calling me back," he added.

I reached into his jacket pocket and clicked the answer button. I don't know why I didn't check to see who it really was before I answered instead of just believing that what he had said was true.

"Hello?" I answered.

"I'm looking for Kellin," a girl said. "This is his phone number, right?"

"Um, yeah. But he's kind of busy right know. Is it something important?" Jeez. I was starting to sound like his secretary.

"It's Katelynne and I was just wondering if he wanted to make arrangements to see his kid. But, if he's too busy hanging around with some random girls, tell him it doesn't matter anymore." Then she hung up. Aw, poo. What did I just screw up now?
