*Jeydon's POV*

I hopped out of the bed of the truck and met the man on the passengers side. He was tall and had a long, gray beard. He pretty much looked like one of those guys off of Duck Dynasty. "You lost, boy?" he asked me.

"No," I shrugged. I heard the doors of the car behind me slam closed.

Damon and Kellin walked up beside me, while Jamie just lunged straight for this man's throat. I grabbed her arm and pulled her back. "Why do you have an unconscious girl in your back seat?" Damon demanded.

"What?" the man asked, clearly confused. "How do-?"

"He saw you take her," Jamie snapped angrily, pointing to me.

"We can take care of her. She is our friend," I told him.

"Well, clearly, you guys don't pay much attention to-"

Kellin interrupted him. "I know you!" he exclaimed. "I swear I've seen you before."

"Well, ditto," the man said. "You're one of them singer boys that my niece likes."

"Yeah, but how do I know you?" Kellin put his hands on his head.

"It may have been-"

We all stopped talking when a scream sounded from the back seat.

*Mariah's POV*

I was falling into a never ending abyss. I felt like Alice falling into Wonderland, except I had nothing to even attempt to grab onto. No poofy dress to act as a parachute.

Then I woke up, but the jerk of waking up from a falling dream was ten times worse. My eyes opened, but as I went to sit up, my whole body felt like it was being stabbed with a billion tiny needles. I let out a scream.

I felt almost paralyzed. All I could do was move my eyes, and that only scared me more. How the hell did I get into this truck? It wasn't my dad's truck, and it definitely wasn't Damon's car.

The door opened at my feet and I heard Jeydon and Kellin. Then, a little more distant, I heard Jamie screaming and Damon telling her to calm down.

"Mya, are you okay?" Jeydon asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said, but what the hell was I talking about? I wasn't fine.

"Liar," Kellin called me out. "You can't even move."

They reached for my hands, each of them taking one, and pulled me to a sitting position. I bit my lip to keep from crying out. Pain was something I usually chose to ignore. This time, it was kind if hard.

I could finally see outside and where we were. Kellin had his hand behind my back, supporting me as I sat, and Jeydon held my hand, asking me how much I remembered and filling me in on what I didn't.

Jamie, however, was supportive in a completely different way. Damon had his arms around her but was having difficulty holding her back as she was reaching for a man.

Realization hit me. It was the creepy man from the rest stop that had been eavesdropping on Kellin's face time! Jeydon was checking my legs for injury, which, I mean, probably was a good idea considering I fell off the trails.

Kellin brushed some hair out of my face and tucked it behind my ear, giving me a questioning look. "What?"

"That- that guy," I stuttered. "Do you remember him?"

"I think so, but I can't place hi- wait. You know him too?"

"He was that creepy guy at the rest stop. You know, the one you waved to and you guys said he was nice."

That seemed to jog his memory. "He seemed nice! How were we supposed to know that he was crazy and would kidnap you?" He suddenly moved away from me and I grabbed the seat, which sent pain all up my arm, to keep myself upright.

Jeydon stood back up and took Kellin's place, just as Kellin walked up to the man and punched him. The man went reeling back and put his arms out to steady him. I saw blood dripping down from his nose and cringed. I hate blood. It makes my stomach churn and body shake.

Jamie stopped struggling in Damon's grip and just stared. Damon sent her back to his car and came over to help me walk back, but ended up carrying me on his back. They sat me uncomfortably in the back seat and I lost sight of Kellin and the weird man, but I swore I could hear a fight.
