Although they'd only recently unpacked their bags, here they were again, shoving all of their belongings into suitcases. This time, though, the destination was a lot more exciting than a jjokbang in a decrepit neighborhood. The Four Seasons hotel of Beijing was not quite the most luxurious of the bunch, but compared to their current living space, it might as well have been a palace. That thought was probably the only thing keeping the anxiety out of Yuhwa's mind, as she watched the girls fold their clothes neatly, making every inch of space count.

The door opened, and Sangah walked in with a large grin, a plethora of plastic bags in her hands. She'd packed her suitcase earlier in the morning, and had cited needing to make some purchases to slip out of the apartment. Judging by the delicious smell wafting from the bags she carried, those purchases were of the culinary variety. That was enough to pull the attention of all the girls from their luggages.

"Hey girls, I got us some Chinese takeout to celebrate our new life!" she exclaimed, brandishing the bags in the air. "And to get us in the mood, too."

Solhwi was the first to jump to her feet, her eyes glued to the bags like a cat's to a laser pointer. Although the scent of freshly cooked food was admittedly appetizing, Yuhwa couldn’t help but wince. Now was not the time to indulge in their desires, not when they would certainly have an exorbitant bill to pay at the end of their trip.

(Yuhwa had made the calculations — with the standard rooms and services, they wouldn’t be bankrupt just yet, according to the hotel prices she'd found on the internet. They would be very close to it, though.)

"Wow, um, how much did that cost?" she asked, her voice small.

Sangah brushed her question off with a wave of her head, as she shook her shoes off her feet without hands. "Eh, no worries. This is a special day after all, isn’t it? Come on girls, let's eat!"

Yuhwa's remarks were cut short then, as Sangah strode through the room, the girls following her like flies. She plopped the plastic bags down on the table, and everyone rushed to take the familiar white paper boxes out, the smell of spice only getting stronger. It was only then, as they all huddled around the table, that Yuhwa realized one was missing.
