For just a moment, Solhwi had thought life would simply go back to normal. She'd been sure of it, even, before Sangah pulled strings like she so loved to, and got them invited to yet another trip, all through sheer charisma and sweet talk. And Solhwi wouldn’t have complained...
If it wasn't for the plane. Having landed only a couple hours earlier, she still found herself far too dizzy and tired to fully enjoy the gigantic amusement park they'd gone to first thing in the morning. The terrifying crowd certainly didn’t help with that. If it were only up to her, she would find herself a bench as far away from people as possible, and take a long, well-deserved nap, until her friends would come back to get her. Alas, that came with the risk of getting lost forever, and Solhwi wasn't sure she could imagine spending the rest of her days stuck in the eternally jolly world of Europa Park. Better to drag her feet around and follow her friends.
She'd forgotten a little detail about amusement parks, though: their many stalls and, quite frankly, somewhat overpriced snacks. It was a miracle she'd lifted her head at that moment, or else she would have missed the large cotton candy machine painted in pastel colors, a line of children waiting for their turn. Sugar was exactly what she needed to get some of her energy back, even if it meant paying too much for it. At this point, she and her friends were used to biting off more than they could chew.
Before she ran to wait in line, she made sure to tell Yuhwa where she was going, so they wouldn’t run off without her. She tried to ignore how much she stood out among the children, more focused on getting her cotton candy. Once her turn came, and she finally got herself one, she joined back up with the group, a pep in her step.
She'd only taken two bites when Sohee caught up to her pace, his eyes round like marbles.
"Ooh, I love cotton candy!" he exclaimed, staring straight at it.
She narrowed her eyes. He was going to try to steal hers, wasn't he? "You should get one."
"Oh, my mom told me to be careful about my sugar intake," he blurted out, before chuckling at himself. "Wow, that sounds childish. I just get a little crazy when I eat too much sugar, I guess."
