The return home, if you could even call it that, had had the effect of a cold shower. Long gone were the spacious hotel rooms and their cloud-like mattresses, or the delicious meals they could all enjoy sitting around the same table. If the night had been difficult, the morning was even more so. Sangah, Sara and Solhwi sat in different parts of the apartment to take their breakfast, all suffering from cricks in their necks and knots in their shoulders.
"God, I miss the hotel," Sara mumbled into her coffee, staring into space.
Solhwi heaved a long sigh. "Tell me about it... I barely slept."
She had never known just how valuable good bedding could be until she'd slept in a five stars room. Now, every time she lied down, it was as if her entire body screamed for the comfort she'd lost, determined to keep her awake until she would grant it that relief. As if she had any choice in the matter.
Before Sangah could chime in with a complaint of her own, one of the bedroom doors flew open, nearly knocking into the chair she was sitting on. Eunha bolted out of the room with an energy her friends couldn’t fathom having after such a night.
"I have good news!" was the first thing she exclaimed, and Solhwi had to wince at the volume of her voice.
"What, you won the lottery?" Sangah deadpanned, scooting her chair out of the way.
"No, but like... The internet lottery?" Eunha shoved her phone in Sangah's face. "Jiayi reposted one of my videos!"
It took a second for Sangah to focus her eyes on the screen, all too tempted to let them flutter shut. All she could see, then, was a video of Eunha working out in what she recognized as the gym in Beijing's Four Seasons, only the username at the top was not hers.
"And who's that?"
Eunha looked almost offended by the question. "She's an influencer I met in Beijing. Look, five hundred people have followed me since she reposted it this morning!"
