Chapter 35: I Spy

Chapter 35

When Jaden got home that day, I told him about Jayda and what she told his mom.

"Are you serious?" He laughed.

"Dead ass. Like what the fuck girl you lettin out all my business."

He chuckled. "Sneaky little girl."

"Right."

"Hey babe I got something to tell you." He said.

"What?"

"I sort of like...hired a bodyguard." He said.

"For what?" I sat up. "What was the point of all that."

"Baby you know some tweaky shit been happening around here and I just wanna keep yall safe-"

"Okay that's your job and my job to keep Jayda safe. No bodyguard needs to come and do that." I said.

"When I'm not here Chanel. What about then? You seen that random nigga taking pictures of us at the restaurant."

"So what! Prolly thought I was cute." I joked.

He gave me a straight face.

I laughed. "I'm kidding..but seriously I don't think we need one."

"Well I got one. He's been my nigga for a while so it's not like I don't know him. Plus he's good with kids so Jayda will love him."

"Whatever.. I have to meet him before he goes near her."

"Of course. I told him to come over for dinner later."

"Tonight? Dude you gotta let me know these things ahead of time." I said fixing my hair.

He scrunched his eyebrows. "You tryna look cute for him or something?" He asked.

"No. But I can't be looking like a bum."

"You never look like a bum baby." He said.

"Aw your so nice." I said.

"I know. I was kidding too." He walked away.

"You jerk." I said.

Later that night, I prepared dinner. Jayda was on the couch watching Disney channel and Jaden was sitting there on his phone like always.

"Jay in a little I need to see the TV because pretty little liars summer finale is coming on."  I said.

"Mann.." She said.

"Sorry girl, you know I am."

After an hour or so, The doorbell rung.

Jaden went over to the door and opened it while I  finished setting the table.

"Hello beautiful." The tall dark man glanced at me.

I looked over at him and smiled. I'm not gonna lie he was cute. But he wasn't Jaden of course.

Jaden gave him a look but brushed it off.

"Mr. Chestnut this is Chanel. Chanel this is mr. Chestnut."

"Ahh just call me Morris." He smiled, showing his perfect teeth.

"Well hello Morris I'm Chanel and this is our daughter Jayda."

"Hey there." He smiled at her.

"Hi." She smiled

We all sat down and started eating and Morris took his first bite.
