Phoenix POV

Happy.

I was happy.

I, Phoenix Wh-…Bla-…Phoenix, is truly, completely happy at this moment in time. I’m not exactly sure why just walking down the halls of the castle after my last class made the resently rare feeling come, but I’m glad it did. Maybe it was because it was Friday, and I had absolutely no responsibilities or obligations for the weekend.

Hagrid had sent me a quick note that told me not to come down to help around the animals for a few weeks. But, it didn’t say I couldn’t go down to the hippogriff enclose with Max.-Blimey. I’ve been spending too much time with Leo.

I could go to Hogsmead with Harry and we could take a few candies from Honeyduke’s while under his Invisibility Cloak. I could do extra-credit work, just wander around the castle finding new corners and places I hadn’t seen before, anything I wanted.

Anything I wanted.

I dropped my bag on the floor of the common room and fell onto the soft velvet sofa cushions as I let out a loud, tired sigh. I could to anything I wanted, and all I wanted to do was sleep.

“Oi! None of that sissy!” Leo said loudly. I pinched my eyes shut, trying to block out his voice.

“Go away Leo,” I groaned, Asking Nicely.

“Watch it,” he said warningly. Of all the people I’ve Asked Nicely (Who knew I was doing it), Leo was the only one who could tell I was trying to get into his head. West said it was a Praesido/Cogitio Lector thing.

“Seriously! Get up!” Leo whined, shaking my shoulder. I pinched my eyes tighter. I wanted to be alone for a bit. Being alone may be the most uncomfortable, scary idea in my head, but this year I constantly had someone with me. I think Harry told Leo about my little episode with the Boggart, and told anyone who could tolerate me to not let me be alone. But I needed a bit to collect my thoughts.

“Fine! Miss the Quidditch match! Miss the Gryffindor team winning the Cup!” Leo said irritably. I snapped my head up from the sofa and glared at my brother.

“What’s the matter with you?” I asked. Leo could be a bit…edgy with people, but never with me. Never when it was just me and him.

“Nuthin,’” he grumbled. “Are ‘ya commin’ or not?”

“Yeah, I guess. Let me change, I’ll just be a moment.” I told him, jogging up to the girls dorm, quickly replacing my uniform skirt and jumper with jeans, a t-shirt, and a sweatshirt. Specifically the one Harry had either forgotten I had, or let me keep.
