Leo POV

“I hate detention,” I muttered, kicking a rock across the lawn as Ron, Hermione, Harry, Neville (Who was a nice guy, he was helping me in Herbology) Phoenix and I walked down to the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

“Out of my way Mudbloods,” I heard Malfoy snap, shoving past me and walking in front of is. An owl hooted, and he jumped, looking over his shoulder.

“Want your mummy Malfoy?” I asked sarcastically. “Or would a diaper suffice?”

I kind of got to daydreaming as Hagrid talked to Filch about our punishment. Frankly, I didn’t think that the forest was a punishment. I’ve been dyeing to get into it since we got here! But something Malfoy said snapped me back to Earth.

“The forest?” he asked, his voice was a bit high. “We can’t go in there at night-There’s all sorts of things in there-Werewolves, I heard.”

“Wow! You can actually heard things through that thick skull of yours?” I asked, looking astonished. I heard Neville whimper, and I saw him hold Phee’s hand. She didn’t look as calm as she normally did. I understood, I was feeling a bit panicked my self.

I’m too pretty to die!

“That’s your problem, isn’t it? Should’ve thought of them werewolves before you got in trouble, shouldn’t you?” Filch cackled, I rolled my eyes. As he started to walk past me, I stuck my foot out, and he stumbled. That bloody cat of his hissed and scratched at me.

“No! No kitty!” Phoenix snapped, kneeling down and holding out her hand. The cat, to my surprise, sniffed it, and then nuzzled it with its head. It purred, and looked back up at Phee.

“Come, my sweet,” Filch snapped, grabbing his cat from about its middle and walking away. It hissed a bit, but didn’t claw him like I’d hoped.

“I’m not going into that forest!” Malfoy declared to Hagrid, who was loading a cross bow. I smirked and looked at Harry, who also heard the note of panic in his voice.

“Yeh are if you want ter stay at Hogwarts. Yeh’ve done wrong an’ now yeh’ve got ter pay fer it.” Hagrid said fiercely to Malfoy was had a defiant look on his face.

“But-But this is servant stuff, it’s not for students to do. I thought we’d be copying lines or something-” I cut him off.

“I will not be an insufferable git. I will not be an insufferable git. I will not be an insufferable git-” I said under my breath. Harry cracked a smiled, and tried to hide it. Malfoy threw me a glare.

“If my father knew what I was doing this, he’d-” he continued.

“-Tell you to suck it up!” I snapped. His shrill, annoyed voice was really, really getting on my nerves. “Your at Hogwarts, not in primary school! Besides, copying lines doesn’t do anyone any good! This’d at least attempt to toughen you up, ya’ scrawny pureblood!” I snapped at him. He looked a bit taken back. I’d been a bit of a…Hard ass lately. I mean, more than usual. I’d always been an in your face, take no shit kind of guy, but I’d never exploded like that, let alone in front of a teacher-Well, Hagrid.
