I'm sooooo sorry! I promised an update forever ago! I just got so busy with moving stuff and school starting in two days, I just had to prioritize all the stuff I had to do!
Anyways, I'm pretty sure this is going to be the last chapter of this story. I might do an epilogue or a little bonus chapter, but I think this is going to be the end of Finding The Way.
Since this is the end, I'm not requesting votes or comments. But, the more I have, the more of a chance I have to add a bonus chapter. ;)
I really hoped you liked this story, and I hope you won't be to mad at me for not posting the possible next one right away. :)

PS~ Sorry if this is short and/or really bad.

Phoenix POV
School was done. I, Phoenix, am done with my third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. So was Leo. So was Harry. So was Ron, Hermione, Neville, and everyone else. Except Ginny, she was done with her second year. The train was leaving soon, back to London. I was already packed, it didn't take me that long. I'd been packed for hours.
And the first thing I'd done when I finished packing was transport to the hippogriff pasture (scaring Hermione in the process) to further explain why Buckbeak was gone. After that, I ended up on one of the various stone bridges on the grounds, my feet dangling off the side wall, my fingers playing with the ring I had on my finger. I wasn't used to wearing jewelry, except for a pair of small foux-diamond earrings that I got after saving up for a year and a half to get my ears pierced, I always wore those. But this ring was special.
My parents gave it to me.
"Birdie," my father called me back after I introduced him and Buckbeak. "Eh, er, Phoenix," he corrected himself. "Sorry, force of habit." He added with a chuckle. I took the few steps back, feeling Leo's cold glare on my back.
"Yes?" I asked quietly.
"I...I hope you don't mind, I have something for you, as well as Leo. I-I'd give Leo's to him myself, but he seems....A little..." He trailed off, trying to describe his son's behavior to him.
"He'll warm to to you. I promise," I said, forcing myself not to look over my shoulder at my brother.
"Sorry, they're a bit dirty." Sirius, dad, said as he pulled two small bags from the tear in his robe where he pulled his ring from. He must have seen my confused look. "Didn't want the guards to get their hands on these, or this," he paused to briefly show me the tarnished platinum ring on his hand. "Kept me sane most days too, knowing I had some part of my family with." He said in a wavering voice, holding out the two small drawstring bags. Both were dirty and faded. One used to be a light pink, the other a baby blue. I hesitantly reached for both bags, but I was only handed the blue one. My dad took my other hand, and turned it palm up. He then effortlessly pulled the pink bag's string, and tipped the condense into my hand. Something cold, small and round fell into my palm.
"It was your great-great-great-great aunt Isla's." My father said as I looked at the ring, a grin on my face. It was a delicate, thin silver band that supported an oval half an inch long. Swirls of silver as thin as hairs curled just over the edge of the black stone in a complicated swirl/hatched pattern. There was a crest etched into the stone, also in silver. "Had that before you where born. Stone it from my mum before she could destroy it...You see, Isla was disowned. My mum found her ring, went ballistic." He chuckled. "You don't have to wear it...It-It's just I always wanted to spoil my little girl rotten...And, I didn't get to...Didn't wanna leave you with nothin' first time I saw 'ya in twelve years..." He mumbled the last part.
